DALSU is a currently active player on the LSU Football team and I am pretty sure that he had a better scoop on things than every one else claiming to. So how about you guys give the dude a break eh?

He said he knows cats on the team. Doesn't mean he is a player. Def doesn't mean he knows anything.

At least "Randon LSU Hero" ate his crow and manned up about what he was posting and what happened. Respect for RLH.

My own "source" said last Sunday that while the job was in jeopardy, no decision or announcement would be made until after the ATM game and that's what happened. I'll gladly provide you with the name of my "source" privately, if you desire.

Yep. I heard this exact same thing from my "source."

I've only read through page 6 but idk why lunchbox is catching so much shite. DALSU called it a "done deal." The title of his last thread was something like "We just hired our new coach tonight."

I don't care if it was being talked about or in the works. Dude was wrong.

Here is my source. We had a neighborhood block party on saturday and I met a golfing buddy of Gator Bowl president Rick Catlett. he said the big money LSU boosters got together a few weeks back and raised the money for the buyout because they were sick of Les. Their only hope was Jimbo.

AD's never got involved, it was only boosters (with administrations knowledge and agreement) that reached out to Jimbo's agent Sexton. Jimbo told them he would talk and when they did that salary was 7 Million. From there it was over. that's what I got.

yet he is happy about staying
this is what i don't understand. miles' players are giving minimal effort. he's losing recruits. he doesn't have support. what reason is there to continue the relationship? just step away. agree to a hciw. something. BUT DON'T SAY THE ENGINE IS FINE

the timeline is in question

A timeline is one of the most important factors in determining the creditability of any story and the timeline here screams that something is very fishy.

Does that mean there was nothing to the rumors? Of course not, but it does serious cast doubt that this went down as it's being advertised by some. imo

this had basically nothing to do with the fans. if anything, this move hurts because a lot of people know next season will be more of the same crap. enthusiasm for next season just plummeted. even if miles gets another oc, no one is going to trust him to change anything, especially after his comments RIGHT AFTER THE GAME HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN FIRED AT. the guy doesn't think anything needs to be changed and doesn't care what anyone thinks.

ding ding ding.

And any leverage Alleva (and big boosters) had to force a change, whether in situ or pushing Miles out, either... just went up in smoke. We, the fans & boosters, are stuck now. Won't be long until players... and then recruits... figure it out. Then you have a UTx situation.

We should love Alleva (and Rick Perry with the assist) for trying. We should hate Alleva (Rick Perry came through) for failing.

You saw how much support he got from the fans and players.

The fans were NOT supporting him staying! They were supporting treating his farewell with class and respect. He deserved that AND he accrued it as witnessed by his farewell actions all week and after the game.
They stayed to the end to say goodbye.
If it were known he was staying, that place would have been half empty after the last score, and you know it!

Right, why involve the guy who manages the program you want to make a major change to.

Do you think an LSU player would actually name themselves on here?? Either ways, I am done with this thread. Move along...

OK, fair enough. But a) DALSU in several threads gave specific information (Jimbo locked in, will be announced by Wednesday) that I saw nowhere else, no matter how many times you post otherwise and b) I always said the people in the media were idiots and were getting their info from bullshite artists and message boards because 98% don't have any real sources and are lazy.

So, I don't get your logic that "the media said it, too" (once again, not completely accurate) absolves DALSU or proves he was in the know because they clearly didn't know what in the hell they were talking about, either.

i never said that everything da posted was correct. i said the timeline of how things went down is definitely in question.

to think that everybody was wrong stretches credulity. as i said, different people were getting slices of the pie from different sources. but to think that da has to "eat crow" is just stupid.

I don't think he has to "eat crow" because I don't think he was an insider so I really don't hold it against him that he whiffed.

I think he was guessing and trying to piece the puzzle together just like I (and everybody else here) was.

The only two differences between us were that I never claimed to have a source and I was a hell of a lot more accurate.
