DALSU is a currently active player on the LSU Football team and I am pretty sure that he had a better scoop on things than every one else claiming to. So how about you guys give the dude a break eh?

PROVE
IT

that's the point of the responses to the op. prove that the people who were saying a similar story were absolutely, irrefutably wrong. it can't be done because the doubters weren't in on EVERY CONVERSATION between the major players.

quote:

You are asking me to believe that Jimbo was in Florida coaching his last game expecting to become LSU's coach...and Alexander nixed the deal.
it appears that this is at least partially what happened and it's not hard to believe for reasonable people

quote:

the Jimbo deal had fallen through 24-48 hours earlier
the timeline is in question, yes.

quote:

ignore that the local media started walking back the story the day of the game
different people were getting different stories from different people, yes. not unheard of.

quote:

Alexander, whose position is largely political, decided to buck the money boosters
no, apparently, the booster were not in agreement on the matter so, he didn't "buck" the money

quote:

he felt the optics of the situation weren't right.
he's done something similar in the recent past. what's so hard to believe about this?

quote:

he could have done so for at least 2 weeks.
again, the timeline is in question

quote:

Use your common sense. Jimbo was the target. The deal fell through. And, LSU had no other plan. The options were to keep Miles...or fire him and take on that huge buyout with a totally open coaching search.
when did i say something different? this is almost precisely what everyone, except shortbus lunchbox has been saying. the "deal fell through" part is the mystery.

He would have nixed it weeks ago if that were the case.
based on what?

quote:

Jimbo was ready to sign on the dotted line and LSU pulled the deal because of Alexander?
apparently, sexton upped the ante and lsu balked.

quote:

Alleva just failed to mention this to Alexander while he was putting this deal together?
who knows what or when alleva tells alexander. what difference does it make?

It is obvious that something was going on or it wouldn't have been a farewell to Miles party on the field after the game. Miles and his family, and the players acted like it was his last game. Why would they act like that?

I'll find out soon enough. I do know for a fact that Jimbo spoke to L Cook and told him he expected to be coming on Wednesday afternoon and evening mentioned the money terms.

What's weird us that Miles knows this, yet he is happy about staying. He knows he isn't wanted by most and had to be "saved". I would think his character would be to walk away knowing he's a lame duck.

Why would an active player have inside info on what goes on during hiring negotiations?

Are you saying he's Donnie Alexander? Only active player with those initials.

He didn't sound like an athlete, he sounded like some guy living in his mom's basement wearing a trench coat

The trolls, sidewalk fans, negas, and Miles haters on this board are not the majority of fans. You saw how much support he got from the fans and players. The majority ruled in this case, and we all saw it. The administration had no choice but to keep him. Very few coaches have an outpouring of support like that when they're on the verge of being fired. Ask Mark Richt if he had supporters like that on Saturday. He was in the exact same situation, yet nobody wanted to keep him. He wasnt carried off the field for sure

I don't think anyone is saying this. They want to know why you allowed posts after 2am saying the deal is done. You obviously had info. But yet now no one wants to share?

DA is not a player. He's a fan in his mom's basement trying to get some praise on an anonymous website. He calls what everyone is already seeing: we all knew BH was the better player and should be the starter, he just called it for everyone to see. The game being moved here was being discussed the week before the game, it was obvious Tiger Stadium was the probable place for it. He just called that out too. Same thing happened here, he called what all the rumors were saying "Jimbo to LSU" and said it was a done deal. This time he was wrong though, and now everyone knows hes been BSing this whole time

Because no one from UGA was saying he's gone regardless if he wins his last two games.

They showed how to do it the rt way, LSU showed how incompetent they are.
