My 7 year old has only cried about one game and that was 1/9. But who didn't?

I'd say he's a chip off the old block.

Oh well, I thought they were.
I always got angry but never tearful about a loss so I don't relate.

Hopefully they grow up to be huge sports fans and our passion when we were kids is paid back to us.

Love to have the problem presented in the OP. Means the kid loves something more than himself.

If ever there was a Bama game for a Bama fan to cry about that was it. Kids are kids. Who gives a shite if he cries? I saw a 12 year old kid cry and beat the living shite out of the 14 year old that made him cry.

Alabama football has been around before Saban FWIW. And they've done OK.

I was just responding to the thread not you in particular but I believe a lot of people at every school take college football too seriously. This board constantly wants Miles gone and the Bama board now half those genius want him gone after yesterday. People are unrealistic and the instant gratification is dangerous.

Didn't read any responses but as a mom of 3 my gut reaction is that EVERYONE gets a trophy these days and EVERYONE is a winner and kids just do NOT know how to lose.

I cried one time when we lost. I was probly about 10 or so. 1984-86. Ive been a fan since I was 5 in 1978 and went to my 1st game. My dad coached 3 players who played LSU. Thats why it pisses me off when these bandwaggon fans rips our team or our coach. I went to LSU from 92 -96, rough times but i was at all the games. I dont mind new fans but dont act like you know more than the coach. ( although i do sometimes)

I'd pat him in back just like the bama guy and be proud he loved his team that much and understood what just happened.

Tremendous learning experience for a young kid.

My Dad would tell me, word for word, "stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about!"

With a kid it's always hard to understand how they will react emotionally as they place great importance on things adults might consider foolish / childish. At the same time it's great to see emotion like that as you know the kid has a heart. But after they reach their teens I can understand only when it's something they have a vested interested in and or participated in. I have no problems with an active participant being upset over a loss, or a great win, but for a casual fan it's a little much.

I saw that Bama kid crying to his dad. My son would be punished. Never cry over a loss.

I remember getting pissed after losses when I played sports and my dad telling me that the best way to deal with losses is to practice harder so it didn't happen again.

I still get upset over losses, but we do the adult version of crying - we get on the Rant and vent like hell.....

I cried after every loss for the first two years I started actively watching.

Honestly don't remember what my Dad said or did cause I was genuinely crushed and tuning everything else.
