Not really him, but the offense. I figured 5 runs needed for the win, maybe 4. Problem is the offense hasn't been there.

Throw your #1 guy here.

Correct the score in the subject line, OP. I'm sure you have it backwards.

I just don't think it was as bad a decision as everyone makes it out to be. With really no third starter you have to be confident in your one and two to go out and give you good performances. Pitching the lefty against a lefty heavy lineup and the "veteran" of the staff doesn't seem wasn't that bad of a move because you only get the advantage if you go 2-0. Since everyone is playing the should have game I'm gonna play the if game because if Lsu would have won today no one says a damn thing about having Lange starting Tuesday in a game to get to 2-0. If I'm gonna knock PM in anything it's gonna be bringing in Stallings and Devall in the game.

most of the fans melting are fans who probably haven't been to any games at the box this year, and have just started watching baseball in the post season. The best fans are made of the people who travel to Los Angels to watch baseball, and almost out number the host team in fans, who are at the box night in night out.

Really ? I think plenty of the people posting in this thread are season ticket holders .. I myself have had season tickets since I graduated from LSU .. I have had them for right at 20 years .. I have been to Omaha 6 times and watched LSU win it 3 times ... I have supported the program financially and fan wise .. So my frustrations come with a decent amount of skin in the game ..

Up until this season, I pretty much attended every home game for years .. This is the first season that i JUST went to about 2/3 of the games ..

The rant is not an accurate representation of our baseball fans.

No, it isn't for most of the season .. A lot of us are at the games and not on here in the game threads while listening on radio and posting updates .. Not knocking those that do it .. because I find some interesting and enjoy their information that they gather .. but your assertion that those that are posting in here today that are not "regulars" are not representative of the LSU fan base (and I know that is what you are getting at) is pretty ludicrous ..

Poche has been our #1 guy all season.. technically.. and we've made it thus far..

Poche has been dominant his last two outings. Poche was dominant today from a pitching standpoint and matchup.. up until he collapsed full of errors..

Why waste Lange today with such a performance? We lose today and then what hope do we have?

We still may get Lange vs Vandy after all.. to eliminate them.. which we will need. We get back to 1-1 and only need 2 more wins vs CSF/TCU.. we are in great shape.

So what's your answer? Fire him? Seriously? You clean house with PM's resume and we'd be the laughing stock of college baseball. Seriously. No one would touch this program with that kind of knee-jerk response to our staff.

Now? No. If he hasn't won another title by 2019, yes. Hell yes. A little while ago I made it clear that I want PM to turn around his postseason streak and push this program back over the hump. However, until he gets back to the level of clutch decision making he was at in 2009, that's not going to happen.

I don't think this is rocket science. The team has played tight and seen the batting averages plummet the last three postseasons in a row. Also, how else do you explain the defensive meltdown today? They haven't looked anything like this all season. This is one of the best defensive squads in school history, and even Stephenson made a couple of mistakes out there today. Great teams make you pay, and boy did TCU. Every error resulted in runs. Think back to the UCLA game in 2013. Wasn't an error the difference in a tight ballgame there, as well? Playing tight in the postseason will get you beat.

You know what they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I hope that PM will develop a better postseason mindset, but until we see some evidence, what reason do we have to believe it will happen? I thought Miles had changed his stripes in 2011, but here we are 4 years later, looking at 2009-10 problems again. I think those of us who are have good reason to be skeptical.

Seen a lot of people say this and it's not accurate. If we beat Vandy/CSF loser, we then have to beat the loser of TCU vs Vandy/CSF, then beat the winner twice. 4 wins to get to the champ series now. 3 is only if you don't lose.

That being said, this team won the SEC regular season title. Scheduling had nothing to do with any of this.

We have had one heck of a great season. But we lost the SEC Tournament. Little ULL drove down the road to BR and kept the Box as quiet as I have seen in all year for most of both games during the Supers. TCU shellacked us even after 28 pitching changes, news flash, they are not in the SEC.

We ain't in Kansas anymore Dorthy.

I go to games, I pull for the Tigers as much as the next guy and I believe that this thing ain't over yet. But it sure is not looking good from where I am sitting. The most entertaining thing I've seen from this CWS is reading the baseball mafia's tizzy.

our hitters struggled but we still went 2-0. I don't see the big deal.

They also put a lot of runs up on Texas A&M. TCU is a pretty good team.

IDK if this post is trying to say LSU baseball is trending down or something, or that our season is practically over. I hope it's not the former, but both conclusions are wrong.
