I think its interesting that James' stance for why Stanford has a chance to be in BCSCG is that they have a group of guys focused on going to class first and being football players second, not having entourages and thinking about agents and getting to the NFL. Wasn't he one of the guys responsible for getting SMU the death penalty by accepting "benefits?"

He is only getting laughed at because his opinion is different than everyone else's. It doesn't necessarily make it wrong, just makes it different. He is basically saying Boise shouldn't make it under any circumstances and that stanford should have a shot if they win out and ok st loses. Fwiw, you took his quote out of context pretty badly

No I'm not.
He ranked Boise 10th because of their poor body of work.
But he ranked Stanford 3rd based off perception, because they havent played anyone either.
So it is really hypocritical of him

What I have to say applies to the current suspensions and the suspensions we've had all season long as well as what James said....You want to get the best athletes on the field possible , but the reality is that the best athletes usually aren't boy scouts nor will they ever be. Now you can whine , piss , and moan about them having no class like some do , or just realize that at the end of the day they are kids , and kids do dumb shite sometimes. God knows I did , and if you didn't ; well I feel sorry for you because you never enjoyed youth as you should have.

I don't really understand who your comment is directed towards. I'm not whining, pissing, or moaning about anything. I agree that most of our "off-field issues" have been overblown. And if anyone thinks that this a new problem and Miles' fault has no idea what happened when Saban was here....

I'm not 100% familiar with Stanford's SOS this year so far, but it wouldnt surprise me if they haven't played anyone. I do know that they have a quiet but solid USC team this coming up weekend and have Oregon left on their schedule. The context of the discussion somewhat insinuated the question who would you put in the national championship assuming that LSU/Bama loser drops out of contention for the NC. If OK st wins out, I think they have a more solid resume for the NC, but he thinks stanford behind "best QB in the nation" has a better chance. I'm not really sure how you can fault him for his opinion. I don't think Boise belongs down at number 10, but I think he is basically saying he doesn't think they belong anywhere near the top for any reason. Little drastic, but again it's not like I think they should be in the NC over any 1 loss major conference winner so what does it matter what number they are? Just because you think a OK st team is better than Stanford doesn't mean everyone has too, although I tend to agree with the people who do
