What little respect I had left for CPM, just went out the window. Stress on how good Lange pitched, but dont throw your kids under the bus.

He literally said "basically we lost because our first baseman couldn't keep his foot on the bag on a routine play with a perfect play" that's not blunt. That's purposely throwing Greg under the bus. Last night he didn't blame it on Cole Freeman but instead "many opportunities wasted" that's the much more professional and appropriate answer.

That one play didn't cost them the game. The fact that they don't score cost them the game. If they can't push 3 runs across the plate, I'd say you have other issues you need to be worrying ahout. For Lange to pitch like he did tonight and get zero help offensively is a bigger deal than being pulled off the bag on a bad throw.

Maybe you haven't noticed but we have only won 1 WS in the last 15 years! My comment about him being like NIck Saban is because Nick rolls his players under the bus as well. The big difference is, Nick wins National Championship..... CPM doesn't!

Man I don't know, I think he was just referring to the irony of baseball itself. A play as simple as that could possibly win or lose the game for you.. Something routine that everyone takes for granted

My god this guy makes me sick he's always doing this. Runs us out of inning constantly can't make a lineup doesn't develops mid week starters pulls pitchers at the wrong time and has the nerve to blame a game on players all the time. He's a pos can't wait for him to finish his career here

i think tomorrow you see something like Bryce J at 1B, Wofford at DH and ole Gregory on the bench. It's obvious he feels Greg lost the game for us. Would have done better praising Alex and leaving it at that. It also ruined that moment.

It indirectly led to what would eventually be the winning run. That said, 0/10 with runners on base and leaving 2 runners in scoring position in the last 2 innings cost the Tigers the game.

If you have to point to a specific play, sounds like this was a routine play that the player screwed up that ended up costing them the game. I mean I'm not saying dogging the kid was the right move, but you can't deny that he's right.

Any player who's interviewed should do the same thing to cpm shite talk him everytime a mike is in their face I'd bet the fans that take up for coach would crucify our players for doing the same. Pathetic how some ppl put our coaches above lsu itself

@JacquesDoucet @geauxMiLB. Mainieri should then take the blame for killing the monument last night after the Duplantis grand slam that out us within one run and put in a suggling freshman pitcher Gilbert instead of his best reliever Hunter Newman.

He doesn't use names, but Les has thrown players under the bus plenty. If Trey Quinn dropped 3 really important passes then Les will say something like, "we need to catch the ball better." If you watched the game then you know who he's talking about-but he doesn't come right out and say it.

If you look in the comments to the tweet posted in the OP, Glenn Gilbeau disagrees. (Not saying I disagree - I've never person ally heard CLM throw a kid under the bus). Gilbeau specifically mentioned OBJ, JC Copeland, & Trey Quinn as players Miles had blamed.

I don't think anyone has asserted that Miles has never thrown a player under the bus. If there were a ratio of player blame : recognizing coaching mistakes, Miles would be skewed toward the right side and Mainieri to the left, I'd bet.
This is anecdotal but it just seems like more often than not we hear Miles say things like "We would have liked to thrown more" "That's the coach's mistake" "We need to coach it better", but you rarely hear Mainieri say stuff like "We shouldn't have hit and run there" "We shouldn't have left [pithcer] in as long". And I think most people would say I'm not the type to look for reasons to apologize for Miles.

There's a very big difference between Miles and Mainieri.
Miles does a lot of crap you don't like but you can't help but like him as a preson.
Mainieri also does crap you don't like which includes making it easy not to like him.

That's garbage. But then again, we're talking about Guilbeau.
Miles always defends his players. Look at that time somebody called Russell Shepard a bust.
Guilbeau does this to get hits on his own story.
