Totally agree

No doubt. Nobody (I hope) seriously thought the team would revolt over Coach's comments (if they did, they are dumb). The question is: do you think the comments were a positive thing--something an LSU baseball coach should have said to the media? I don't want to have to worry about phrasing, you know what I mean.

Oh I totally agree that the comments weren't a positive thing. I was only saying that, using today's game as evidence, they don't appear to be a negative to the team either. My guess is they are neutral relative to the team's performance.

With the W today, we are still in the hunt for a regional. If we host, good things can happen after that.

Those comments were truthful. At some point these guys need to take accountability for their mistakes. CPM has taken self inflicted heat publicly when he was not at his best.

It was truthful that we lost the game because of that play by that player?

Disclaimer: I didn't read all 11 pages . . .

I don't think CPM was throwing Deichmann under the bus. Every baseball fan reflects on the critical plays, calls, etc that happen during a game. I thought the same thing. We lost by a run, an unearned run, that that play was instrumental to. It's not to say we would have won but we notice it.

If CPM has a glaring weakness it's that he hasn't shaped his regular season for success in the post-season. IIRC, we're the only team to be a nat'l seed the last four years in a row. And what do we have to show for it? One win in Omaha.

"I would rather play for a coach who demands perfection than one who accepts mediocrity," Danny Wuerffel in response to criticism from Spurrier. LINK

The players can do that when they get the respect for having a 720 winning percentage!!!!!

"I don't think CPM was throwing Deichmann under the bus."

Obviously, you do not have an historical perspective.

I don't think anyone has asserted that Miles has never thrown a player under the bus. If there were a ratio of player blame : recognizing coaching mistakes, Miles would be skewed toward the right side and Mainieri to the left, I'd bet. This is anecdotal but it just seems like more often than not we hear Miles say things like "We would have liked to thrown more" "That's the coach's mistake" "We need to coach it better", but you rarely hear Mainieri say stuff like "We shouldn't have hit and run there" "We shouldn't have left [pithcer] in as long". And I think most people would say I'm not the type to look for reasons to apologize for Miles.

True CLM talks in code. And that is fine. That is being general and not too specific and personal yet getting the message across. That is not necessarily throwing a player under the bus. Now CPM went above and beyond. Not cool.

And as far as GG throwing a stab back about CLM that is predictable. He and CLM obviously despise one another. And GG is always quick to try to be as controversial as possible. Got to keep his Modus Operandi in force LOL!

I'd love to see the play in question.
