Who writes the lineup card to put a non-first baseman at first base?

Deichmann retweets indicate your concern is valid

Basically we lost the game because our first baseman didn't keep his foot on the base on a routine play

honestly, it looks and sounds worse than it is...

And? Mainieri may have pissed off Deichmann. It would bother me too. But it's not like the team is going to revolt lol

I think he intentionally said what he said as a way to distance himself from the loss and say "hey my coaching was good, dumb kid couldn't hold on to the bag." This has been mainieri's MO for 10 years now, it is nothing new. He will always find someone to throw under the bus before himself taking the blame.

Also who wants to bet that Greg is gone no matter which round he is drafted in and how much money he is offered.

I watched it on the 10:00 news and yes he threw Deichmann under the bus. I would love to know what players think about playing for him. He does have his pets, that's obvious
He looked like a sad looser on the news, blaming the loss on our first baseman.
Last night Cole Freemin talked to the media and took full blame for the loss because of his costly error, was that because CPM put the loss on him?
Shame on CPM.

I think it's fairly obvious that the person you first responded to wasn't suggesting the team would "revolt". They were most likely speaking to the team's respect of their coach, as well as their motivation to win tomorrow being other than to please their coach. Don't be naive and think at least a group of team members aren't texting back and forth how much a pussy their coach is right now.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow. Most of our everyday players have hopes of playing in MLB so you'd think they would want to perform well for selfish reasons.

This is my thing. A Mainieri postgame conference is just as, if not more likely, to include a player being the reason for the loss, rather than a coaching decision. I think the whole "they're just kids" thing gets thrown around too much, but regardless, it's just not a respectable quality.

He turns 21 within a month of draft day, thus he is a draft eligible sophomore. He gone.
