A lot of people are talking about these sensationalized stories where Jimbo was in, then countered, and we decided in the 3rd quarter to keep Miles. Here's a more realistic view of what happened:

1) Rabalais wrote a poorly sourced, opinionated column suggestion Miles could be playing for his job.

2) National media ran with the column because that's how they get news: sourcing from locals.

3) As we continue to lose, people start churning the typical rumor mill with big names that would be amazing if we got. In reality, there's only 3 people involved in a coaching search at the Athletic Department. The idea that one of them is leaking info is insane.

4) At 7-0, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, Alleva never seriously considered firing Miles. No search was being done. No talks were being had. None. The craziest thing is that he never came out and stopped the rumors. That's the insane part.

5) Joe Schad reports his source says a decision was made to keep Miles during the 3rd quarter. Who is this source? There's only a handful of people that are involved in this decision. Is it more likely one of them is leaking info to Joe Schad for no reason, or that he's reporting BS to cover his previous report that Miles was already canned and we were in deep talks with Jimbo?

6) When Alleva announces Miles is staying, people start generating stories that somehow perfectly fit all of the surrounding rumors together into a nice neat package.

The last one is important to remember because people have posted "what happened" which would've required them to have inside info into: FSU admin discussions, conversations between Sexton and Alleva, secret Booster Meetings during the 3rd quarter, and conversations between King and Alleva. So either the people describing what happened are omnipresent, or they're trying to build a story that matches every rumor they've heard over the past 3 weeks into something that makes sense.

If that were true, Alleva would have come out 2 weeks ago and squashed the rumors.

Yeah, that was my point of why this spun out of control. He's a shitty AD, and didn't handle the tail-spin the way he should've.

However, that's a lot more believable to me than we started a coaching search when we were 7-2 (let's assume we didn't start one at 7-0 or 7-1), and were close to closing a Top 5 coach by the time we were 7-3.

So it's more realistic that Rabalais, Joe Schad, and other just made up media stories? Way too many people around the program seeing smoke for there to be no fire.

Plus, if that was the case then why meet with coach Miles 10 minutes after the game in a closed door meeting to tell him he's keeping his job?

I pretty much posted this yesterday and it is indeed what happened. Jimbo was never contacted. Alleva does not talk about his coach or talk with other coaches during the season.

IF it is true that King Alexander killed this whole idea with Alleva on Wednesday and Alleva sat on the story for FOUR days, then I have a problem with his handling of this PR nightmare..... nevermind what Les Miles believed or did not believe or when.

It goes back to the same thing every time......what did he know and when did he know it....that's on Alleva.

Les knows one thing. He is evaluated every year after the season. He probably believed this was is last year based off the media and how the team has played. Alleva gave him a vote of confidence before the game then right after ( after a very brief meeting ) told him he was still our coach. Miles knows that this is Allevas way of doing it. That's why is isn't upset.

After it caught fire, Rabalais later re-iterated on Twitter, that he had no sources, and it was purely his opinion on things that could be possible.

Schad is notoriously one of the least credible journalist that is constantly posting clickbait.
