How does this work as far as his classes are concerned? How many years was he on scholarship for? I assume he's gotten his diploma by now right? Is he just taking random courses at this point?

if he's already gotten his degree then he's likely started working on some sort of graduate degree

That's gotta be a pretty sweet deal out of some unfortunate injuries if he was under scholarship. Sign up thinking you're only going for 3 then getting 6 years of education out of it.

A lot of players who get their degree before eligibility is up take some grad courses and probably don't even go to class (maybe even online classes), total focus on football.

If after your 4 years of eligibility are exhausted and you are still working on your degree, LSU will pay for your 5th year. At least they used to, when I was working in the athletic dept. The 5th year program would require them to assist in the athletic department something like 10 hours every 2-3 weeks.

I would assume he's in a graduate program. However he may be a non degree seeking graduate student which means he just takes 9 hrs of random courses.
