Chimes or Walk-Ons

I've never eaten anything at the Chimes that I thought was the least bit good.

I've never been to Walk Ons.

I usually get raw oysters and blackened gator. I don't go to eat though.

It may be quite dated now, but it is an old BR institution from the mid-20th Cent glory days.
To be fair, while the food tastes the same as it always has (very good), the building and its décor seems to be the same as it always has been, too. It has little to offer in terms of ambience unless you're interested to see what a local dive looked like 50 years ago.

I disagree.

Since I graduated someone bought the place and cleaned it up. They also added some Italian dishes to the menu.

As far as I am concerned neither did anything to enhance the place.

Agree with this!! Pastime food sucks donkey balls. And yes I'm older. Used to go there 30 years ago for pregame. Much rather the chimes. Food is better and any kind of beer you want

Legend is they adjusted the I-10 bridge design to save it from demolition.

Is that why the traffic sucks so much?

Yes please.

Throw in a Tiger Bait calzone and some pitchers of beer and I'm good.

Nope, I haven't been there just never heard anyone speak positively about it before. I can remember passing by it as a kid on the way to games and always wanted to go.

Unless your friends are 75 or older, I'd take them to The Chimes or Walk-Ons.

We used to do Chimes pre-game and Pastime post-game. How hard is it to get into Chimes after a game?

If you mean the children of the original owner now run the place then you are correct. As for the decor, you can add some flat screen TVs but it is still a building that was originally a grocery store in the 1930s.

Pasttime pizza is great

agree - some of the best pizza in town and it is a very old Tiger hang-out !! pictures on the wall plus the pizza makes it good for all Tiger fans - I went last week and got the oyster Poboy - it was outstanding - construction is a pain and blocked many of the parking - it is still not that bad

I go to 1 game a year and every year I go to the pastime.

Dad introduced my brother and I to it about 15 years ago.

Maybe I'll try it out this week. Is it pretty easy to get in before a game?
