You also thought Minter was a first round draft pick, how did that prediction work out for you?

Amusing comment from a UCLA site: LINK

The Bruins are making their third appearance in college baseball's big show in Omaha in last four years. The party is going to get started on Sunday night (6/16) when the Bruins (44-17) take on (gulp) LSU (57-9) starting at 5 pm PST. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and also shown on ESPN 3.

Sounds like the guy in this article thinks they will lose this game.

It's the College World Series, so every team did some good things to get here and every team will be a tough opponent. I'm glad that Vandy got knocked out, but Louisville is looking pretty strong after beating them. I didn't want to have to face USCe, but now UNC is on our side of the bracket and must he pretty strong if they took out the only team to win a series against LSU this year.

Flip it around, however, and the other teams are probably seeing a lot of things to worry about when they look at LSU.

Aything can happen, particularly in baseball.

Trust me, UCLA isn't jumping for joy that they have to play LSU in game one.

Every team that plays an Omaha-level LSU team is not happy about it.

In the CWS, every team is good. Don't tie yourself into knots worrying about this team or that. They are just as or more scared of us as we are of them. So just let it wash.

Do you think UCLA' experience will give them a big advantage?

In terms of this, I'd have been far more concerned with having South Carolina in our bracket.

OSU and UNC are the biggest threats to LSU, but don't sleep on Louisville either. They are playing really well right now. Having said that, I think LSU is hands down the best team out there. As long as they play to their potential they will come home with the 7th national title.

Honestly, if LSU plays like they did in the super regionals, I think they will be hard to beat. That is probably the best they have looked all year.

Rest your troubled brain, gotygers. I believe Ray Rhymes will carry us through. He has the chest and the want and the long hair and he will score us some points, and perhaps even pitch a few innings of relief. And he still has some football eligibility left!

I'll say this about playing UCLA... it's a lesson I heard years ago about a couple of golf guys in a singles match playoff.

One of the kids was dominant, the other was awkward. The dominant kid was talking with his coach about how the awkward kid had gotten to the championship with so many swing problems.

The coach said it's simple, "you need to be on your game because that kid has, despite all his flaws, learned how to win."

For whatever UCLA has going against it, they are in the CWS. And punked a team, CSF (and at their field no less), that everyone on here was freaking about having to face.
