No, he can get performance based bonuses that will make his contract equal to anyone drafted after round 3.
As stated in the post, it was according to the link. Not my opinion at all. Personally I hope he can get the highest UDFA deal in history, whatever that is.

What is the difference PR-wise between drafting in the 7th round and offering a UDFA contract? Both are actions saying we want you to play for us.
Nothing has changed with respect to Collins' status in the murder investigation. The police statement that he is not a suspect in unchanged from before the draft. Why are teams suddenly offering Collins now? Because they are trying to exploit circumstances the conduct of the NFL created.

People have to think outside the box. LC amy play for the league minimum and have a $2.0M/yr endorsement contract for some local car dealer... there are ways to get around the system if you want.

Both the draft and salary cap should be abolished and players should be able to sign whatever contract they are offered via the free market.

Right! That's worked so well for baseball that continues to shoot itself in the foot.
Fraid this thread has given the Aggies a lot of ammunition.
Hoping this youngster has a good agent, but not knowing you could not withdraw from a draft & reenter next year leaves me concerned. How do you play the game if you don't know the rules. If I am his dad, he would have been fired yesterday.
Have a feeling LC will land on his feet, be a better man & make us all proud of this Tiger in the long run.
