Coach's committee baseball notes

In attendance: Milazzo, Brown, Bingham, Holman, Loer and Jump.
Scrimmages Oct. 5th and 6th at 5:00pm. 7th to be announced.
Jump - Jay "one of the best HS pitchers I ever seen"
Loer - Jay " angles make for a very uncomfortable at bat"
Brown - Jay " two way player, because of his bat"
Bingham - Jay " I don't know how he wasn't drafted, but I am sure happy to have him"
Holman - Jay " One of the best pitchers in the league"
Milazzo - Jay " future Head Coach at LSU"
Jay " We are waiting on a phone call tonight on player that will be a difference maker"
Noot had surgery on 2/1/23. Jay typically looks at 14-15 months recovery. That puts him at mid April.
Shores had his surgery mid April, I believe puts him back in the postseason. "We are only going to use them if we have to".
Personally I would argue that having a stud pitcher, even for just the postseason is worth the roster spot. If he advances you in the postseason that is more of an impact on the season then your 40th best player on the roster. Just my opinion.
Mentioned he would have used Skenes in the Championship game for two innings, in more of a closing role if he needed to.

One question I've never heard asked: why did he put Beloso batting lead off in the final game? Beloso had never led off a game, at LSU anyway.

Bull pens moving for 2025 season. Not enough time for next year and would be disruptive.for practice. Start the work the day after we cinch CWS berth in 2024.
