Completely right. Anyone who argued Leslie wouldn't rather burn the thing down than change and admit his system wasn't working just needs to rewatch 1/9/12. The man just gave up on a fricking national title game instead of changing

Miles interview was NOT class.

It was an exercise in public ego masturbation.

You're finally catching on to what I've been seeing for years. He is selfish, no way around it. Always draws attention to himself however possible. How many times did he flirt with the Michigan job? Hell, he even flirted with the Arkansas job to get a raise from LSU. He long ago knew that the offensive game had passed him up, so what did he do? Hired one of his old Michigan buddies for $1.5 million per year to change absolutely nothing.

Maybe Miles had to go. Maybe Orgeron is the answer or possibly Herman or another head man. But, don't think that hiring a new coach is going to put LSU on the same level as Alabama. It won't right now.

LSU fans love to speak of the great talent in Louisiana as well as the current talent on the team. They are right. we have great talent in the state on the team, but what we have is skill position talent. WE do not produce top notch Offensive linemen . Also we have not produced as a state top Defensive linemen. The top defensive linemen/ linebackers are going to Alabama. Aside from Cam Robinson is there a 5 star lineman that is coming out of Louisiana playing on the LSU team ( and starting) right now. Pocic came out of Illinois. Clapp is a 4 star and Malone is a 3 star depending on which service you believed.

Miles and LSU have lost to teams that have superior lines on both sides of the ball. Alabama, Arkansas ( huge O line) and Ole Miss...Tunsil, et al. The big beef is being produced elsewhere and going to other schools.

Also since we try to measure ourselves against Alabama, we are at a disadvantage. Put aside the national championships that they have, they have a system in that state that is unbelievable from a recruiting standpoint. They identify these kids, work with the high schools, direct the prospects to "resources" that help them get an edge. All for the greater glory of the Aluhbumma Crimson Tide. They ought to be called Alabama, Inc.. Until the State of Louisiana is ready to become LSU, Inc. we will always play for second/third place...does not matter who the coach is. Maybe once every few years we are able to slip in to the SECCG, but Alabama will be the monkey on our back.

this is a pretty shitty analogy. I would equate it more to Apple failing to realize that people wanted bigger phones, they had pretty much everything else right.

Apple was still selling a boatload of 4" iPhones. Even then it outsold Samsung's larger phone and was perceived as the #1 smartphone company. It only got better when they introduced the larger phones.
Even if it wasn't the perfect analogy, it still represents that you evolve or you die.

So they take issue with a sentiment that 100% of head coaches in the country have as well?

Yes. They said so in the article
