Every time I read about that 2nd and 2 pass on here it gets shorter and easier. It was a 6 yard pass at the top of this thread, but then two posts later it was already a 4 yard pass. If Mettenberger had just waited for a few more rant posters to weigh in before throwing it would have been a hand off.

I'm starting to understand how some people think the offensive coaching is fine, given that they obviously can't see a damn thing that's happening.

Some response: one play may make a game, LSU hits the two yard pass and the game is over. As far as the offensive philophsy either we get Miles out of the offense or we live with it. If he wants to run the ball then say it and do it. If he wants to air it out speed up the offense then recruit the QB to run it. Right now we have several RB's that all deserve to play. We have an O line that 3 of 5 are back and when you run on people they will quit in the third quarter when they figure out they can't stop you, IE (AM game, most of Bama game, SC game, Wash game, MS game)we ran our way to that success. Just don't kiss a guy make sure it is a girl

We get ready for the , very vocal, MILES HATERS. They will say its Miles' fault for Mett not being able to throw a 4 yard out route because Miles recruited Mett.

Honestly, my son can make that throw.
we'll it keeps happening, so it's either he's not getting coached up, which i think that's the problem, or miles made a mistake recruiting him. which one is it?

some people refuse to admit there is a problem until the house has burned all the fricking way down.

I'm not so sure Mett is an improvement over JJ/ Jlee

After having a chance to reflect back on the season & review a lot of the games again, Mett needs to be held more accountable for some of the offensive failures. But to be fair, the receivers sure had a lot of drops. With the expected defensive drop off next season due to all the defections, more than ever, we need the offense to step up!

The 2nd and 2 pass didn't lose the game. 8 3 and outs lost the game. An inability to gain more than 210 yards on a team that allows an average of 400+ lost the game.

We can't rely on defense, turnovers and special teams to carry the team. It may work against lesser opponents, but eventually you will get burned.

they did a good job not using a 230 lb RB who was basically the only bright spot in the O averaging over 10 yards per carry. Instead they counted on an average on his best day QB. Pretty moronic if you ask me.

God forbid you use logic.

Your entire post reeks of dumbassery. This game had no business being boiled down to one drive, nor distilled down to one play.

This.

Silly. The preponderance of the offense was very poor. The fact that the defense allowed us to cherry pick a play as you do to point to is not an indication that the coached put us in a situation to win. That is just silly and shallow.

He wasn't completing much in the bowl because our O-line looked like cheerleaders blocking. It was deplorable. No one would complete passes when sacked on the second step of a three step drop.

OK the 2nd and 2 did not lose the game. Do you realize how many games LSU has won playing that way under Miles? Maybe he is lucky, or maybe he has won 80% of his games playing that way. Which way do you want it: junk the whole program or continue to win 80-90% and be in the NC picture every year. He will adjust the offense although most think he is an idiot, his record proves you wrong.

It's laughable to compare Mett to JJ. JJ is easily one of the worst starting QBs in recent LSU memory, if not THE.

JJ was at least good at rollouts

This, I think, is my greatest annoyance with Les Miles. It has become commonplace ever since the great Charles Scott disappearance in the 2nd half of the 2007 Kentucky game.

Jeffferson was an embarrassment. But lets look at the Miles record with no and I mean no QB from 09-11. I think he wins 10,11, and 13 with no QB and plays for a NC That is huge and tells you he can coach

I don't think Mettenberger is the answer, LSU needs to go back to running the ball and win with defense.

So you do have a problem with the coaching...

Major coaching issue - Not giving the ball to the guy averaging 10+ ypc in the 4th quarter - not once. They chose to rely on the unreliable. Bad coaching.

You're probably kidding, but Miles noted after the game that they weren't running the football with Clemson's players outnumbering them at the line (like it was a fact).
