as it is on here. Here are a few of the comments on Woodward's official release on LSU's Facebook account. I'm surprised to see so many comments like this given the current trajectory of the program.

quote:

Disgraceful new AD. Coach O is Louisiana and deserves to continue. Nice win over FL coach. The AD needs to go imo. Coach O achieved a 2019 National Championship!! His players were drafted, his assistants promoted. Many injuries this year. A common corporate move to replace existing leadership with "loyalty" hires to enhance the "takeover" execs power and survival at the first real or manufactured excuse. A UK alum.

quote:

Wow. My opinion… poor decision by the A.D. Coach O deserves much better from LSU Athletics. I love Les Miles, but he stayed around years with an abundance of talent and worse records than Coach O. I wish Coach O the best of luck and hope he finds a school that will be patient with his vision and plans. And I love LSU football, so I hope they can find the unicorn they’re looking for, but I fear they just dug their own grave.

quote:

You’ll not find a coach with the great heart for this team better than Coach O.. this is sad news to me. I wish success to LSU and especially to Coach O.. sometimes it is so shameful that you just can’t appreciate what you have.

quote:

He came in when we had no one and LSU never intended to keep
Him! Coach O take the money and run! LSU is a bunch of snots in a dirty town! You can do better!

Glad we no longer employ an idiot who listens to Facebook as an AD.

A few random comments on Facebook doesn't really mean anything. There is always dissenting opinions on anything. Doesn't mean the majority wanted him to stay.

I will say this coming out after the UK loss before UF would have been slightly better for optics, buts seems like things weren't completely finalized before the game.

Yeah, Woodward is catching hell from some low FB IQ Karens and Boudreauxs.

I do think that modern college football tends to pull the eject button too early on some coaches, but there is too much money being dumped into the hires and O’s salary to let him get any more time or more coordinator hires.

Yet that is what they are doing, they are paying for him to not coach and rehiring him to stop him from going somewhere else.

Check your location settings to make sure responses aren’t only from Lafourche Parish.

Facebook - casual fans, will support the program no matter what

Here - people who played HS football and think they know the game better than people who make 20x their salary by coaching football

I hate to say it, but a much better barometer is how the gameday crew responded Saturday morning.

They all know what a few FB karens don't: the level of play coming out of LSU right now is absolutely inexcusable, and the buck stops with the coach. Period.

You continue to show us that you’ve never been valued enough in your professional life to have two things happen for you:

1) Receive a severance(buyout)
2) Sign a non compete

Nothing about this termination agreement is unusual, but I guess it’s a stretch to expect the drive thru cashier to understand that.

I’d rather pay O 4.2 million not to coach than 9 million to coach. It’s literally money better spent.

If we negoatiated a longer buyout period all the better.

I never said it was usual or unusual about the termination agreement.

Now what part don't you understand?

I said they are paying him not to coach and are now in the process of rehiring so he doesn't go and take all the players with him.

Getting mad at me probably isn't going to solve your problems.
