Chris Holtmann should be the new basketball coach at LSU

Why no one is talking about Holtmann?
He just beat Tiger Rant's favorite new coach candidate. He beat #1 Villanova twice this year. Don't mislable Holtmann as a mid-major coach. He guided Butler to the three straight winning season and now they are in the sweet sixteen.
LSU needs an up-and-coming coach like Holtmann.

I think they would be a great hire.
holtman, Mack at Xavier, or Cronin at cincy

And he makes 400K a year, so you don't have to break the bank to get him.

Scott, who's the leader in the clubhouse?

I doubt any of those are leaving cinci, Xavier or butler for LSU

Last night I heard some Will Wade buzz, but I don't think anybody knows anything yet.

Exactly, LSU hasn't shown a commitment to men's basketball. That's a process that will have to happen and it will take years, there will be no easy/quick fix to this problem.

For 400K a year he's not. Ridiculous statement is ridiculous.

Mack and Cronin are at their alma maters. Hard to see them leaving

Why not? Just throw all the bones at them. Who would refuse a salary increase of 3x or 4x?

It might be better AT THE MOMENT, but LSU can and should be a step up. The right coach can rebuild this program into a contender. And we can certainly pay more than $400k
The question is "Will we?"

Butler coaches leave for better jobs. Period. Always have.
Same thing is true for VCU coaches.
Now, you may get into this search and find out that nobody wants to work for Alleva. But that doesn't mean the LSU job isn't a step up from Butler when LSU can easily pay six times what Butler can pay.

I agree a great hire but you folks forget money alone doesnt motivate everyone. Dude could stay where he is for 20 yrs then smoke cigars and travel the world. 400k is a very good living regardless where you live in the US.

His wife would prison rape his butthole with a plugged in curling iron if he turned down 1.2 to 1.6 million. 400K is good money but it's not frick you money.

No chance at Holtmann. He will have a really big job when he decides to leave.

Indiana is open? Is he up for that? Why not resurrect LSU and up your asking price when the blue bloods come calling.

I think he'll be under serious consideration for the IU job.
