He has never coached or lived in the south.

Nick Saban coached 25 years in the midwest outside of a brief 2 year stint in Houston before he came to LSU.

Urban Meyer had never coached in the south.

I dont see why this is relevant. He moved across country to coach the Eagles but he wont move to the south to coach at LSU?

Definitely. Even right now.

USC is fricking stacked with talent, too. The only senior on their offense is Kessler.

Kelly is quirky. So much so that he makes Miles seem normal. Not sure he is the right fit for LSU.

He's quirky in a meticulous, attention to detail kinda way. Just like Saban is.

He isn't a cluess-quirky like Miles.

I can tell you how many People gave me a hard time when we hired that "Yankee" Saban. Said he'd never be able to recruit the south.

-SC pays close to the same as LSU (Sarkisian was making $4.2M)
-Current talent is on a similar level

If the rumors of LSU wanting Jimbo are true, then LSU is willing to pay much more than the $4mil that Les Miles was making.

He's going to need a raise { $6mil range } to leave FSU. And im sure they know that.

With that being said, if Jimbo doesn't work, i dont see why they wouldnt be willing to pay the same amount for an established guy like Chip Kelley.

LSU probably pays 5-5.5 for their next coach with Cox and Raising Canes pitching in supplemental income to make it an even 6
