Personally, I think you guys are better off without Chavis.

BAMA has always had his number. Ask 10rC and now aTm

Chavis left bc he wanted guaranteed money. He obviously didn't think Les' job is as secure

Ironically, Les's job is more secure than Sumlin's at this point AND as of now, he has the #1 recruiting for 2016.

We don't have to ask anyone. We know first hand.

The only time I want to hear of Chavis is when the history books reference Fournette breaking the school record for rushing yards in a game against Chavis' new team/defense. Until then, lets take it one week at a time.

I'll be honest - Chavis did not recruit worth a flip. But I;'m watching the final Bama drive from last year on Youtube right now. The play calling was not the issue.

Here's the sequence (after Alexander's penalty cost us a TD):

1. Onside kick - Bama's ball at the 35
2. 1st down - Sims to Howard, 6 yards. Adams gets stiff armed and lets him get out instead of making the tackle in bounds.
3. 2nd down - incomplete
4. 3rd down - cornerback blitz (good call), Mills over pursues, another DB (Jefferson, Thompson, not sure?) whiffs on another tackle, White whiffs on another, Sims runs for 1st down and out of bounds).
5. Howard catches on underneath route, gets out of bounds
6. Collins is beat on a slant for a 1st down, Cooper drops it
7. C. Jones beats Mills on a deep ball
8. White beats Jefferson on a post, gets out of bounds.
9. FG

I can't blame Chavis on that one. SOMEONE just has to make a play. Anyone of those tackles gets made in bounds, game is probably over.

IF he leaves early? With one possible exception, every player that even gets a hint that he may possibly get a tryout for one practice squad in the NFL leaves LSU. They typically stay at Alabama till they know they can make a team. I do not know the reason they are in such a hurry to leave LSU, but they are.

There is NO understating how much he truly fricked us in recruiting. Coach O and Steele are working magic right now. I wish it wasn't true, but our success next year will rely HEAVILY on true freshmen. I'm glad O and Steele can handle recruiting as well as they do.

If you run a pivot table and look at our numbers, you might shite yourself.

Not sure which numbers you're referring to or why they'd make me shite myself. I'll assume you agree with my statement, because Chavis NEEDED to recruit for us and didn't. You've gotta realize the effect it's still having.

The easiest copout in history is to blame the guy who is no longer here. Not buying that the head coach had no say in the recruitment of DL and LBs.

It's not that. Sure, the head coach takes the blame. Comes with the territory. But each coach has his responsibilities. If Chavis wasn't decent with X's and O's, then Miles should have fired him. Straight up.

Good thing we might bring in the best defensive class in LSU history.

He left because of a sudden shrinkage of the Pectoral region

Our defensive line really only has two quality people, Godchaux and potentially Key. The rest are average at best.

Neal, LaCouture and Bower are all quality Dlinemen.
