I'm glad they are both staying. If we don't match Georgia and let them leave for Florida who do we get and how much do we have to pay? That is how we determine how much they are worth. These guys definitely upgraded and stabilized the defense.

Sure but wouldn't you agree that just about any D coach on the market at the time Chavis was hired would have upgraded and stabilized the defense?

This is how we get in trouble. After one year a raise???

We went from shite to average. F that.

Ok I'm Done. Flame away homers. What I said is FACT.

No....this is "fact":

"Keeping Chavis is a coup for the Tigers, whose defense improved substantially on his watch this season. They’re ranked 12th nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 16 points per game."

You offered name calling, anger, and opinion which is fine, but hardly "fact".

I appreciate him stabilizing the defense. But come on. He has been in the game for a long time and never to my recollection fielded a top 3 defense. "He doesn't deserve that pay check." Sound familiar?

LSU is in real financial turmoil right now. FACT.

and Haley

......to add insult to injury. He's a shitty coach. He got fired in Chicago for being a shitty coach. He was the most questionable coaching hire made last offseason. He's proven to be the worst D Line coach I've ever seen at LSU. Are you fricking kidding me?

ETA: I may have jumped the gun on this one...I should say that my original sentiment remains unchanged if Brick Haley received some type of compensation to stay...that would just be insane. If he's just announcing that he's staying, for whatever reason, then I don't feel so angry and let down by the clowns running the LSU Athletic Department. But Brick Haley still sucks and it would be gain to LSU if he left. That's all.

Financial turmoil? Didn't Forbes just rate LSU AD as one of the best in the country?

So One year is proof that he has consistently fielded a good defense? And is a "good defense" acceptable at LSU? Last time I checked we were looking for a "Great" defense. And no this season was not great. Any good team we played racked up good yardage on us. Therefore the verdict is still out on the Chavis vanilla offense.

Doesn't deserve a raise. Wasn't a coupe. And hurt us financially in a very bad time.

If LSU didn't match and let Chavis go, there is no guarantee that abetter option would be willing to come.Richt has scoured the nation and offered to some of the best in the country and none wanted the job.I love LSU as much as anyone but do you guys really buy this elite status that you think we have.We are much in the same boat as Georgia. We might have a lame duck coach that would keep the same guys from coming here.I think that it was good to match the money.Better to pay more for a good coach than take your chances of paying someone less that's not as good.

What is "this" referring to?

LSU generates $86M in revenue and almost $40M in profit. Money will not and should not stand in the way of us getting and keeping the coach we want.
