Really not trying to criticize you. I'm simply not understanding. You really have reason to believe that we couldn't persuade a top tier DC to LSU for half a million dollars?

I humbly disagree. LSU with 500k can have their pick. That's just my belief.

The problem with that is that UF, UGA, Texas A&M, and who knows how many other schools are also looking for a DC right now?

a defensive coordinator that will give you a top 10 defense once every 3 years and only if your offense is utter shite.

This is one of the dumbest things I've seen on here in a long time. Congrats.

Why are people griping that Chavis is staying? That is good news for those who can't seem to accept good news anymore.

Chavis' defense improved as the year went along. The D was far from great, gave up too much yardage but was tough inside the 20. Part of that is our talent is not as good as some people think. No one on the D line was a stud. Sheppard and Peterson only real studs I saw all year. Chad Jones still needs to live up to his potential. So considering that and the fact it was Chavis first year, his coming back is a good thing. Note to Chavis... go get some STUDS on the D line.

Exactly. We had a very average D-line this year and we are used to seeing Dorsey, Lavalais, Spears, Williams, and the like.

The Georgia hiring situation and LSU's situation are very similar.

I agree!

We need some consistency at DC with all the changes we have had in the coaching position in the last 4 yrs or so and D was much better this year. Going from 50+ ranking in Scoring D to 12 and a much improved t/o margin were big factors to this teams success whether or not the success was enough for some.

Why anyone would not be pleased with retaining the man, at this point in time with the options available to us, is a mystery to me.
