Excellent point and I can't counter that argument. Anybody else?

You are taking this personally towards LSU. Its not a secret that we only have 4 OL that arent quarantined. sure most don't have covid but they all came in contact with someone who did.

working out by himself (aka with a trainer) will defibitely lessen his risk.

Now don't get it twisted, the main reasons are because his draft stock can't go up and the season isn't "real" so why risk it?

COVID is screwing us out of back to back national championships. Really pisses me off.

If i could have opted out a year early of my engineering degree and got paid I would have.

Jamar Chase has put in the work and established his market value. Some unproven engineering student without a degree doesn't have that option.

Honestly I was kinda surprised he was playing this season. So him opting out isn't a shocker at all. Seems like a lot of downside to playing. Obviously you have the Covid concerns and entire conferences are opting out. So now it's some kind of wacky exhibition season but Covid aside, how on earth was he going to improve his draft stock? The young man had so much to lose. I can't fault him.

Of course I wish he was playing for my favorite team this season. But it's his life and he only has one shot at it. I wish him well. It was something watching that young man play for the Tigers.

I do not like, but I understand, his reasons for opting out.

I still believe he should have done it in June. I find it hard to believe that seeing a few teammates get quarantined was enough for him to change his mind. I don't believe that playing 10 games vs 12 was enough to change his mind.

He was a team leader, got the #7.

I get it, just timing is absolutely awful.

This is just one more sign that players, at the highest levels, are playing for their futures, not for the love of their school or teammates.

I do not mind that Chase is leaving. It’s next recruit up. chase is going to be making a financial decision that will keep his family comfortable in an uncertain world.

Your team just had the greatest college football season ever ! How are you going to top that with our key losses ? This LSU team isn’t going 13-0 this year without Burrow.

I would sign too. All I ask is that when Jamar signs with a club that he gives it a 100 and keeps it classy in the league. We don’t want any more former players being a problem or a whining primadona.

This has zero to do with CV. College kids have seen hundreds around them get sick and get well. This is about agents and money. We need a minor league out of HS like baseball. Go get paid or go to college for 3 years like baseball. CFB loses quality but also ends the pay for play argument. NFL needs to get it done. Right now NFL just uses CFB as minor league for free. May still have occasional opt out but wld be far fewer.
