All I'm saying is that we struggled against some weaker teams this season, so I don't have an issue with Marceaux starting, if they feel Henry is a full go for 60-75 pitches Saturday.

I understand. And, I'm saying my biggest issue with the decision is the 3rd game. We are choosing the following:

Our #2 against Stoney
Our #3 in Winners Bracket

over

Our #3 against Stoney
Our #2 in Winners Bracket

That's a bad decision IMO because the only thing you gain is a more certain win over Stoney (minimal), and you lose a lot in the Winners Bracket game.

Cpm surprised everyone with marceaux on Friday. Don’t assume he’s going walker game 2.

Also, we don’t have a 1, 2, 3. We just have 3 pitchers.

A) There isn't much faith in Walker to win the game, which is a bad sign for the rest of the tournament.

TBH I'm not sure if I trust him enough to beat another team pitching their #1 guy. And honestly our offense has been so inconsistent who knows.

This is a great point. We don't have an "ace" in the vain of Lange, Nola, etc. If we did there is no way you throw him in Game 1.

At this point of the season this goes for every pitcher.

Not necessarily. Walker depends on those calls greatly. He's not the type of pitcher that can blow one by you on a mistake pitch. He's a finesse pitcher and those corner calls are huge to his success

At least we haven't had to hear Ott's rambling over every point he is making, fumbling over words etc. Really enjoyed listening to Charlie and Skip yesterday, some really good content. The show is so much better when Ott is out

Charles only sounds happy at the buffet or poker room where there’s free liquor.

This sounds like a happy place to me. Just saying.

You can't go 40 pitches to 90. Forty to 65 then to 90.

Henry pitched Tuesday the 21st. They probably threw him in a simulated game on Monday the 27th on 5 days rest. In that simulated game he probably threw about 65 pitches. On Sunday, in game 3, he would then be ready to throw 90 just as you outlined above. That would be on five days rest.

This has been well planned by Mainieri and Dunn.

ASU is gonna tee off of eric walker to the same level that vandy did

If Eric Walker has his stuff he will control ASU. Vandy knocked him around because they are outstanding and because he did not have his stuff. I'm still surprised that Marceaux is going first and Walker second instead of the other way around.

Has this been announced somewhere? I believe everything in this thread is pure speculation, and just discussing possible reasons why he may be going with Marceaux first.

Marceaux has really come on strong of late.

IMO, he’s our best starter at the moment. I guess Paul just decided he isn’t losing to Stony Brook again, and I’m fine with the decision.

Hopefully it all works out.

Marceaux gives you 7 innings, and hopefully you build up a safe lead. Then we don't touch Fontenot, Hess or Peterson in game 1. Then we throw the farm at ASU Saturday to try to win. If Walker is on, he is capable of shutting down anybody, but if he isn't then we have a fully loaded pen ready to keep us in it.

This only makes sense if you think that Johnny Wholestaff is better than Marceaux and a closer, or if you think Henry is better than Marceaux. I don't believe the latter is true.

2017 Walker, sure.

ASU will shell him.

The only problem with that is...we got to win the regional 1st. Doesn’t really matter if you are “set up” for the super If you don’t win the regional
