My bad. It wasn't a broadcast, so no screen capture.
It was the story under the NFL tab about Boller retiring. The Whitehurst info is there as well.

I thought the Chargers brought back Charlie Whitehurst as the #2
They did and he got hurt.
Then they signed Boller and he retired.
Then they offered Billy Volek and he turned them down.
Lee is currently #2 by default.

He has a strong arm. He just needs to be coached up.

Can't wait to see lee in preseason
Posted on 7/29/12 at 1:32 pm to sunnydaze
Just watched Lee and Rivers practicing on NFL network. Lee who is number 16 looked pretty good throwing practice routes but with no defense. Still has his signature jersey tug.

Lee will.....eventually become a star in the NFL
I like Lee just fine but

Now watch Rivers get kicked off the team for a fight at a bar and for counterfit money at a casino and it will be deja vu all over again where young Lee is forced into the spot light.

"How was this guy not a star at LSU?"
He throws a nice ball AND he hates to get hit.
Just you wait, this is not decided yet.
SF Niner's picked a guy Gino Carmazzi, ahead of Tom Brady.
Carmazzi was not in the NFL by first game because he could not stand the heat.
When Brady got hit his first play in exhibition season, his helmet was knocked off. He got up and ran back to the huddle and on the way clapped his hands and said LET's GO.
I can still see it in my mind's eye. LET's GO!
Some of them cant stand in the pocket and some can.
Some of them have feet of stone and cant sidestep.

Jarrett Lee - still there, but no love from Norv Turner... yet
quote:
Turner fell far short of giving Lee a vote of confidence Friday. “He just needs to learn how to play the position,” Turner said. “It is a totally different situation than where he was in college. It's a whole different system. It is a different level of competition. It's a different style of offense. I like him a lot, but he has a lot of work to do.”

I always thought Jarrett had talent but just didn't have the coaching. But to be honest he did get that deer-in-the-headlights look again (11/5) and I'm not sure this can be 'coached out'. We'll see, wish him the best, for sure.

, and while I like Lee he was awful better than half the time. He had that chuck-and-duck business down to a science.
This is pure fabricated horseshite and only an opinion.
Funny how he could overcome this and lead us to wins vs UF and Tenn in 2010 with the game on the line and then play extremely well to lead us to 8 straight wins.

He was the highest rated SEC QB in 2011 and would have been very good in 12 of 14 games. The issue wasn't UA so much as a D that brought a lot of pressure and ran complicated coverages (which happened to be UA). This will be the norm in the NFL so it will interesting to see if further and better coaching improves this. I hope so.

This sounds correct.

Golden opportunity for JL!

Hope the best for Lee. I can't believe JJ won't just try and play receiver? Teams would give him a shot.
