This defense is starting to remind me alot like the 03 defense. Except for the last half of UNC which isn't fair bc the offense went 3 and out the whole half so the D was gassed. But in the Vandy game, the whole game I saw that tenacity, that I'm gonna come up and hit you in the mouth attitude. I'm not saying that by years end we will have 03 stats, but there is lots of potential for it to happen. The offense is anemic for the most part but w this caliber of D it won't take 40ppg to win. This could very well be a top 5 D at years end. They look to be gaining their swagger w each series they step on the field.

Gonna wait til I see them against a quality offense but do think they have all the characteristics of a top defense. They certainly have my attention...

It helps that we have Good leadership in each level of the D. They will be top 20 for sure. Top 2 or 3 in the SEC.

Our D was great in 03, but we had mistakes/close calls that year as well:
UGA long screen pass, UF, Ole Miss

We weren't so dominant that people didn't stay on the field with us.

championship caliber? maybe...

bad arse? definitely

i agree...this defense plays like they want it...let's hope the offense can become mediocre and move the ball occasionally so the defense can rest

The O had several long drives this week. We only play 2 or 3 elite offenses this year. The D should feast on MSU, WVU, ULM, UT,
McNeese St, Ole Miss, and possibly Auburn. Good stats are very possible on the year.

They don't have the size up the middle like they typically have had this past decade. This concerns me for when they play teams like Bama & FL, but the speed & talent is phenominal. I'm pretty excited about the defense.
