Forgive me if I'm unimpressed by Auburn grad Chadd Scott's opinion of LSU coach Les Miles.

The bottom line is that we all know that Les is a kind, generous, honorable man.

How can we bury the hatchet with an enemy and convince their people of our good intentions without sending them our kind, generous and honorable people?

Almost 60 years of tough talk and posturing with Cuba has yielded NOTHING and changed NOTHING in Cuba.

The fact that we can't maintain friendly... and FAVORABLE relations with a nation 90 miles away from us is a complete failure of both our societies.

We don't need to be best friends to trade. We don't need to have the same governmental philosophy to visit each other.

One thing is for sure. If we want to end communism there, we need to do something different. Because 60 years have gone by and we haven't budged them one inch.

Chadd and I watched on the Internet at Starbucks when the Cuban Missle Crisis came on. It really affected him. I remember he posted on MySpace (that's how long ago we are talking about) that it was a shame that the Cubans stole those missles and he hoped no coach would ever go there. For his whole life, Chadd has battled Comunists as a result.

(Or perhaps Chadd is a dumbass kid who doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.)

I know Miles is not politically motivated so that is my number one reason to hate people like Chadd Scott. Miles is doing this solely for the humanitarian effort.

What would have happened if LSU's spring break was next week instead of this week? Would Miles have altered the spring practice schedule and still go to Cuba this week? Would he have gone to Cuba next week after Obama had already returned to the US? Or would Miles have done something completely different with his time off? It's kind of hard to separate Miles' trip from the political spectrum when he's there at the same time as Obama.

I'm not trying to rip Miles, but how many times has he gone to another country for humanitarian efforts? I know he has done USO tours, and I appreciate that he has.

Its a complicated issue. No one should bash Scott for his opinion on the matter. But, people that know Les Miles knows his intentions are genuine as well.
Ill tell u this, if I ever get a chance to go to Cuba, Im all in. Beautiful people, beautiful beaches and the warm Carribean water. If things ever normalize, it will be my vacation go to spot vs Cancun.

Les Miles has lost control of US-Cuba relations.

Mid-level media "personality" Chaddd Scottt sees an opportunity to write a piece that calls out an SEC Coach. He writes the piece, which piggy backs similar sentiments from a national media personality with very strong personal ties to the issue. Chaddd Scottt then sits back and hopes his story gets picked up and spread via social media, messages boards, and talk radio by people searching for lebatard's quotes. The ultimate "win" for Chaddd Scottt is if one of the ESPN entities like First Take or Russillo and Kanell talk about it or have him on their show. Then a midlevel media "personality" gets his chance on a national stage to make a mark and get his name out there

Terrible article. What Chadd Scott is proposing is to be a prisoner of the past.

Scott's perspective is also myopic relative to the improved well-being of Cubans. On the contrary, Coach Miles is contributing to improvement according to the tweet from @LSUfootball. That's a damn strong move by Coach Miles!

Laissez les bons temps rouler en Cuba!
