I wish him the best. I am glad he is going this route as given the severity of his injuries his odds for success in baseball are better than in football. Either way, he is a class dude and I hope he gets signed. Geaux Chad Jones.!

I'd love to see what the scouting reports say.

Honestly, if an actual MLB scout does a scouting report on him, many people on this site will probably be dissapointed.

I could see him getting picked up even though he hasn't had time to train properly, his work ethic is beyond question.

I've never wanted a comeback as bad as I do for jones. Not the best player to have ever worn purple and gold but definitely one of the most clutch and impactful. Ill always be appreciative for him and what he did for LSU.

DREADLOCKS OF DOOOOOOOM!

Yup. The talent is definitely there too. Very coachable. I'm not a scout but I hope they'd take these things into consideration.

Went by Rummel yesterday during lunch to get a glimpse. I was shocked at the amount of people across the street at Rummel's football practice.

Fastball clocked between 88 and 91.

Looking back at the video of him in the CWS that is about the speed he was hitting then. I just hope his slider is close to what it was then.

Best of luck!

I've got to say, I am really impressed with his worth ethic. How many athletes would just cash in their chips and just quite and sit on the couch, or run to the trap house? This guy is bound and determined to get to the big show in some fashion. Such an inspiration.

That's because any article or news story that isn't 100% positive about anything associated with LSU stirs the rantard hornets nest.

Realistically the report will probably say something about having good not great velocity. Needs better command of pitches. However, they see many of these problems due to his time away from baseball.

Despite his injury he is a natural athlete, is coachable, and should get a shot in the developmental league.

Minor league is the developmental league. I understand that the farm system is not literally called the developmental league.

The Yankees will sign anyone with a pulse and probably at the max deal!

Seriously, they LOVE the stories the media loves!
