You can't run around talking about the strength of the SEC and then bitch when a couple SEC teams are ranked

Yes it is mulligan shite all over again. Saying that bama is the best team is subjective. Florida only has 1 loss too and curb-stomped the team that beat bama IN bama. Bama squeaked by arky and a 3-3 vols team at home.

So Alabama has a loss and is ahead of 8 undefeated teams.....So if LSU happens to lose to this great team and their only loss is to Alabama, then they will most certainly be in the final 4 again next week, right?

Exactly.. if LSU was in the same exact position it would not be the same.. It's bullcrap that Alabama is ranked 4th with I dunno.. A LOSS to OLE MISS.. at home..

It's like it never happened.. and their only two impressive wins appears to have been against mediocre teams at best..

ESPN gives LSU a 6% chance to win out.

Bama gets a 19% chance to win out.

Oh, ESPN.

Well if Bama just isn't that good then LSU should wax them Saturday and that issue will be taken care of won't it?

LSU has a tougher schedule left than Bama. Not really that hard to understand.

Florida so far back, just goes to show the Alabama bias..

Florida has beaten common opponents much more impressively.. and Florida's only lost was on the road against the #2 unbeaten team with a new QB and was a thriller.

Alabama lost at home to a 2 loss team and it's as if it never even happened. Beating a&m is nothing special whatsoever.. They lost to a 2 loss and counting team..

Any other SEC school with 1 loss would not be in the top 4 over unbeaten teams from a power 5 conference.. and that's just a fact.. and Alabama fans want to use their past to justify the current.. yet Alabama got smoked in the playoffs last season and they got annihilated in the sugar bowl a season prior.

I understand why Transitive Property isn't used in sports because it's stupid. I'm just saying that rankings should be based on SOS, common opponents, etc. Its just irritating that Alabama "passes the eye test" even though they have a loss and barely squeaked out a win 2 weeks ago against Tennessee. But, that's just gonna make it a whole lot sweeter when we kick they arse come Saturday

Don't like the guy...but he is spot on tonight. Baylor hasn't played jack shite yet...it is easy for an offense like that to take care and destroy inferior teams.....wait to they play a real defense where they Can't score like they have, and no way in hell they stop a power football team with those shitty defenses. You guys will never learn...you love the fun and gun....regardless of whether gimmick or not.

Wow - did not expect the #2 spot or the board doing an O-T immatation.

Not a big ESPN fan, but observation about strength of schedule with the committee seems to be very valid. The TCU ranking is a prime example. If the Tigers keep doing what they are doing with scheduling, we will not have that issue. Green Bay is gonna be a trip to remember.

Yes, one team from the first ranking announcement made the final cut last year. Bottom line, just win, starting Saturday. 60% chance of rain hurts us a little IMO, but I am very confident that this is a Tiger W, in their f'n house !!

Bring it home & we're #1 in the second week. TBC

Why the hell is Alabama number 4? I swear if LSU was in their situation we would not be number 4. Oh well.

I think the Alabama bias is quite obvious to everybody now. Even Finebaum was appalled they were the number 4 team. Just beat them. That can't be said enough. And after we are finished with them, I hope Mississippi State puts the final nail in the coffin

The Tide is like a religion in Alabama and even more like an idol God.And a great majority of Alabama people are Baptist who refuse to allow crucifixes in their Churches because they claim such are idols but worship The Tide almost like its their Salvation.

Our Christian God allegedly was,is and will always be the same and Tide adoration by those in Alabama and out of state was,is and will always be the same. it frickin' more insane then Islam and 72 virgins waiting in heaven

I'll never understand this mindset.

We already have a means to determine the best team...they play each other, and the team with the most points when time runs out wins...and that makes them "the best team."

Ole Miss beat BAMA in their house, and made them look bad while doing it. Why does BAMA never get to be what their record says they are?

If...and keep in mind I'm no huge proponent for the playoff system in the first place...but if you really feel the playoff is a benefit in that you'll get to win the championship on the field rather than be appointed the best, why would anyone argue in favor of the current system which literally appoints the Top 4 teams based on which teams a group THINKS is the best to then...cough cough...earn it on the field?

Until the system is set up that completely and totally removes the arbitrary rating of teams to determine which are good and which are not, this will never be anything short of broken but in a different way than the old system.

You want the playoffs to matter? Institute a system by which the major conference winners, like their NFL divisional counterparts, play their way in. That's it. No more polls. No more committees. You win your way into the playoffs, and you win your way to the title. Wait...you think 2 SEC teams deserve to be there? Tough shite...you want in, win the conference. And no hand picked wild cards either...

Until that happens, all bitching that takes place is warranted, because it's always going to be just opinions.

Would any of you people really take Michigan State, Baylor, Iowa, FSU, or TCU over Bama???

No you wouldn't. TCU maybe, but Bama spanks all the others, and probably TCU as well.
