I'm surprised they didn't bash Miles for not using Mett in the National Championship. I want to say I read an article towards the end of the January on cfn.com where they mentioned some type of scenario that Mett could have thrived in during the game.

That will always be my biggest regret, not Lee, but Mett, if that loss doesn't get Miles to change his philosophy on upper classmen, nothing will.

Why would they bash Miles? Mett looks a lot better on paper compared to Lee and JJ, and couldn't have done any worse. However, inserting him against bama's defense could have been disastrous. Then you have people blaming Miles for inserting Mett over the other two seniors. Any loss with either QB is going to backlash against Miles. I wish people would stop with the "what ifs".

Hindsight is always 20/20...

Jordan Jefferson was able to connect on a few key deep balls here and there throughout the season, and Jarrett Lee was terrific for the first half of the year

The cry might have gone out by Bayou Nation to have given Lee a shot when Jefferson failed to move the offense

does not equal

but that wasn’t going to work; there was no passing attack to bail the team out of the jam

Here is the reason WHY "Bayou Nation" was so irritated. LSU actually HAD a passing attack with Lee at the helm. Enter JJ and that goes completely away. Check out the passing stats toward the end of the season...it was maddening. For him to say there "was not passing attack" when he already admitted how good Lee was earlier in the season is a bit ridiculous and underlines completely our frustration with that game. It wasn't losing, it was losing the way we did.

We didn't have a "passing attack".

Not sure if you mean for the season as a whole, or just the Title game. If you mean the whole season, you must not have watched Lee the first half of the season.

If you just mean in the Title Game, hard to have a good attack when you don't use all the weapons in your arsenal.

Always the case with a lot of freshmen and inexperienced sophomores on the two-deep. Depth will be fine.

Top ratings:

> Offensive Line: 10.0
> Defensive Line: 10.0
> Running Backs: 9.5
> Secondary: 9.0
> Special Teams: 9.0

We could arguably be the best in the country at all 5 position units.

I dont want to be a homer kevlanmei...but i dont think there is another team that matches us in those 5 spots...no one has a deeper backfield, more beef up front, more freaks wrecking havoc, more ball hawks just waiting to steal something, and a guy that can make punt returns irrelevant.....

Hey, I agree with you. Not only the three key guys you named, but we have consistently had some of the best kick coverage and punt coverage units in the country, as well.

IMO, our special teams is what I have the most faith in being the #1 unit in the country.

The freaking media. Most are so biased they can't even admit it.

Still living in Nick Saban's underwear.

No Dre Kirkpatrick. No Donte Hightower. No Mark Barron. No Courtney Upshaw. No Trent Richardson. No Darius Hanks. No Marquiz Maze.

The media would shrivel up and blow away in the wind if they were objective.

They simply can't say anything good about us.

But they're an "unbiased source" of information. The guy that wrote that is a complete idiot.

"Start the season strong."

Ok, well, in case you forgot we opened the season with a #3 ranked Oregon team and beat them, fairly soundly.

Our opener this season is North Texas.

What drug is this fool on?

Not hatin, just the objective truth.
Both were doing well until meeting top 5 defenses.

Jordan Jefferson 33/50 464yds previous 3 games, 5/13 30yds 0int vs UGA.

Jarret Lee 34/47 457yds previous 3 games, 3/7 24yds 2int vs Gumps.

As porous as the OL was 1-9, I wouldn't have expected much from Lee either.

Better luck next year, with Mett having more time under Krags and a more refined pass O.
I think an extra season under Krags to undo the left over "Wizardry" will help the O a lot.
