If he is as good as we all think I think the coaches would give him touches...unless they are punishing him for not paying attention to detail like pass protecting. I am thinking the next 3 games he will get touches.

Several runs he eluded a defender as soon as he got the ball. Not sure the others have this ability. His pass pro, just trying to cut the defender were horrible, he’s stout enough to take on LB’s and DB’s blitzing.

. I would’ve liked to see Emery get some of the passes in the flat though.

Perhaps you would do better following ice skating or golf. You apparently know nothing
about the game of football.

He didn’t play bad but the fact that he is the number one back on a top 5 team is astonishing. On Every other team ranked near us he’d be at best a third down back and maybe worse.

I follow you, but I wouldn’t be as harsh on CEH. However, I was thinking that we have the #1 RB in the country on the bench. Clyde is a good back, but I believe that John Emery is special!!! I definitely think it was a trust issue. You just played the #9 team in the country, at their house. In the second game of the season.

I think Emery will emerge down the road, but in this situation you consider that he's still a freshman with zero experience against major college players, and CEH and Fournette have been through the wars.

If this were a run-first team, you probably go with him early. It isn't, it's a pass-first team. You go with the guys you think pass-block the best and won't miss assignments, that can make the occasional play on the ground to keep the defense honest.

I was surprised by the rotation, I guess that's the only thing that makes sense to me.

I don't think we have a RB that goes over 700 yds this year, but amazingly enough, I think Buckeye Jeaux may actually be right about our QB
Thus far, he's been insane.

Absolutely not...he was horrible in picking up blocks and pass protection. He missed at least 2 blocks that would've resulted in big first down plays and 1 blitz he whiffed on completely that positively was a TD to a wide open WR in the end zone..

He is very shifty and broke a few tackles though. We have to remember that hes not a wrecking ball type back like Fournette or Guice. His hands do need some work- Bricks

But if any of you know anything about football, this guy is at best the third best running back on our roste

there were plays that I was questioning why Lanard or CEH were in there instead of Emory but then remembered they are in there because they can pass block and they know the offense. They are decent runners and good recievers but obviously not the big play potential that comes with Emory.

I guess the coaches thought that on the road against a top 10 opponent was too big of a stage too early for the freshmen. I'm sure they'll get their due these next few games.

The dude made some big time runs in key spots today. Not sure what game you were watching.

Clyde had a good game imo. He gave up that huge sack in the redzone but the only thing that drives be crazy is how slow he is.

I don’t get why Emery’s not getting touches but I hope they don’t waste him riding pine all year.

First, I think he is a very average back and his vision is subpar. Hands of stone. Seems like he goes down immediately when touched

HOWEVER, the guys pass protection and blitz pickup is NFL level. He missed only one block and it was because the defender jumped over him. He was phenomenal In that regard. In this offense, that is absolutely necessary.

I fully believe we need to get more backs involved, BUT, your description of CEH is dreadful.

Really surprised Emery didn’t see at least some action last night.

This is a terribly shitty take that disregards the great job CEH did while Joe was going 12 of 14 against the blitz last night.

My point precisely. No where did I say he was bad as all these posters are insinuating. I said he was AVERAGE, specifically for a team like LSU. Yes he's statline was fine...

Not sure how someone can think he is more than that...but oh well
