Kentucky is the only good team LSU has beaten this year

We'll see what we're made of this week though

Not only did we beat Kentucky, we crushed them. We lost 5 games without our full roster. frick Jerry Palm.

When we played in Brooklyn, our starting 5 was Quarterman, Blakeney, Sampson, Robinson and Simmons.

Two of those guys barely log minutes now.

This is why this whole thread is useless. It is painfully obvious that Jerry Palm has not watched and/or paid attention to the fact that we were missing our 2nd and 3rd leading scorer. If Oklahoma lost their 2nd and 3rd leading scorer they wouldn't be an NIT team.

an LSU alum must have put it in his wife's butt. If you listened to this dipshit in 104.5 a couple of weeks back, you would know that his is an arrogant know it all with some hidden agenda

LSU is a tourney team if selection day was today. period, the end. frick palm fo realz

True. However, WITH their 2nd and 3rd leading scorers LSU still has losses to 3 of the 4 "good" teams they've played (OU, A&M, UF).

Like it or not, LSU is VERY much "on the bubble" right now for 3 reasons:

1. As a whole, their non-conf. schedule was bad (4th worst in the SEC)

2. They performed poorly against that bad non-conf. schedule (7-6)

3. They only have one (1) win against a RPI top-50 team. That's including games with Hornsby/Victor

Without the UK win, LSU would be 0-4 vs. the top-50 and 5-7 vs. the top 100. That's not the resume of a "good" team.

Compare LSU (15-8) to Texas (16-8). Both have similar overall records, but most projections have Texas as a 5 or 6 seed while LSU is generally considered one of the last 4 in right now. Why? Simple:

Texas has played 9 games against the top-50, winning 5 of those. LSU has only played 4, winning just 1. Texas only has one loss against teams 101-200. LSU has 3. Texas' non-conf. SOS is #14. LSU's non-conf. SOS is 196, and that's INCLUDING Oklahoma.

Yes, LSU is a much better team with Hornsby/Victor in the line up. Everyone can see that. Still, those two entering the line up have only translated (to date) into one really good win. This week gives LSU an opportunity to change that narrative. But until they do, they will still be generally looked at as a shaky NCAA tournament team.

And if we beat OU, we're firmly in the NCAA. Hell, we barely lost other games early too. It's a dumb if

He's been down on LSU the whole time. Ignore him

I don't know how you couldn't agree with him in some sense. We've beaten no one really. If we win out this week then we'll have something to say. If we lose out this week we are NIT.

While i agree that Lsu's resume is weak Jerry Palm is giving the sec 0 respect.

Bama, Vandy and uga aren't scrub teams. Each of those three have a shot at the tourney

This team has been playing good for an extended stretch now. But, the quote above is absolutely why we don't have any breathing room and probably won't the rest of the year.

He's right. Win games that matter. If u think they "deserve" to be in the tourney right now then u are wearing goggles.

It's February 9th. Sweet Christ. No one is "in the tournament right now". We're alone in 1st place in the SEC.

The #1 SEC team automatically makes the tourney

LSU, right now, is where in the SEC standings?

We've beaten Kentucky. His statement tries to take that win out.

Hense why it's a dumb statement. We did win that game, beat them by 19 actually

Jerry Palm is a computer science major from Purdue. I have never met a single person that graduated from a Big Ten school that didn't have penis envy for the SEC. If you read his quote this is his attempt to try and downplay the SEC.

That's not correct. The winner of the SEC tournament is the only automatic qualifier (regardless of where they finished in the regular season standings).

If LSU goes on to win the SEC regular season they will be in the tournament. However, it won't be simply because they are the SEC champs, but because they beat other good teams down the stretch to win the championship.

They represent as the winner of the SEC. Right now...that projection is LSU. Hence why we're actually in Palm's bracket.

I wasn't aware of the midseason sec tournament

That's not true. No team that wins the SEC regular season will get denied a bid, but it's not technically automatic. We're not in the Ivy League.

ETA: I think I see what you're saying. Projections are silly.
