Ole miss hasn't won an sec title in 50 years. Cut life did well there with Manning. They have been terrible for the most part. Something changed with Freeze...probably paying recruits
Tubby did well. So did Brewer*. Nutt came in and produced a pair of 9-4 seasons after Zero went 0-8 in the SEC.
Even if Freeze is cheating, Yawyaw is an outlier in terms of suckage.

one of his bigger mistakes was putting all his eggs in the Brent Schaeffer as starting QB basket.

It was the same as Larry Porter at Memphis (but Porter was actually worse). You had a guy with no experience calling plays and no experience running a team suddenly in charge of a struggling program. That is a tough situation. He didn't make great hires, didn't delegate (as he admitted), and just didn't know how to run a staff and a program.
O also tried to be the DC for at least one season, which he had never done before. He really struggled with that, as well. It was just a mess. He did do a lot better at USC, and it is obvious that he has learned a lot from his experiences.

He's always been all LSU, even if it meant getting paid to sabotage Ole Miss
