I disagree BYU at least posed a mild threat to us if we came out and got cute. Chatanooga does not pose a threat to us what so ever and therefore i think well see more passing this game even though they wont be able to stop the run

I agree.

This is a game where the rant, myself included, would shite all over Coach Miles if he just ran the ball and didn't work on the passing game. Well I'm not a hypocrite so I hope we use this game to our advantage.

I hope Chattanooga blitzes, has 10-11 men in the box all night to help prepare us against MSU. LSU needs to work on its passing game in love situations as much as it can going into Starkville. Grantham blitzes like Joe Lee Dunn used to.

Canada is smart enough to adapt based on the opponent rather than continuing to run into a brick wall like Miles.

The Patriots are a good example of the right way to run an offense.

I forget the team (Maybe Minnesota) a few years back had this unbelievable run D. Like you literally couldn't run on them (was it the Williams wall?) Anyway, did the Pats try running? Nope came out and threw every single play.

Miles was too stubborn to adapt. Sometimes your best can't beat their best. You have to change.

Canada will adapt and do what he thinks has the best chance of succeeding rather than just presuming you can do what you want regardless of the opponent's strengths.

Well O has put a pitch count on Guice of 25 which means in a stretch 30. Said he does not want to wear him out.

On that line of thinking: why on earth would "get cute" and do anything but ground and pound with the occasional passes to not show SEC teams whats in our playbook.

The Coaches have to determine whats more valuable to be successful.

Do we need the reps in order to execute at a high level against a competitive team or do we need to rely on the surprise factor in order to score points. Personally I think we have to pass enough to become proficient and adept at executing the passing offense against top tier defenses. IMO, LSU needs to pass 30 plus times despite what Chattanooga's D gives us.

This is somewhat misleading quote from Ed O. He did say that 25 was too much on a consistent basis BUT he also said that there may be times that he gets more than 25 depending on what is needed. So it's not necessarily a pitch count but a bench mark per say. Actually I think he said around 20 is what he would like to see.

That being said I think we get lots of backs involved in this next game against Chattanooga. You better believe when we get into the RZ there will be more first down passing and many more fakes to get into the endzone instead of kicking FGs. I don't think Ed O wants to see another FG in the next game unless it's at the end of the game with 2nd stringers in and we are up 56 points. He may want to see what our kickers have at that point.

I think we will see guns blazing in this next game. You have to realize that this was our first game against a respectable opponent. They didn't know exactly how the game would go so they played it somewhat safe. I think that's out the window now. We know what we have and know how the players will respond, having the first real test out of the way. They will let it rip this week. I would bet money on that. There really isn't a threat to get beat of mistakes happen. We can afford to make some mistakes, and still come away with a nice win. We better let it all hang out before we get to State and have to do it all for the first time. I would go into it like we were game planning for state at least on offense. GT

We'll see, but that will be interesting with some of the defenses coming down the stretch, where their "worst player" is a former 5* All-American.

Well if it's our 5 star WR against a slower 5 star linebacker....I'm good with it....it'll be a mismatch nonetheless...

Sure was kidding...Miles would continually attack an opponents strengths. Preaching to the choir here but 'great on defense but absolutely moronic on offense'.

Kinda like that Pitt Vs Clemson game? Ask Clemson or Dabo if that was interesting. He's proved to do much more with less if he has the right pieces to do what he wants. It's hard to believe that he doesn't have that at LSU. We have yet to see a fraction of his offense. For those who think we have seen it all, are just plain doubters who can't be let down so they imagine the worst. It's a truly strange aspect of this fanbase.

What team not named Alabama ever bricked wall us? LSU has run the ball and ran it well for the most part of 20 years.

We ran the ball like 75% of the time against BYU. When does Air Canada lift off?

LSU's next opponent is Chattanooga, so they won't be dictating shite, so no reason not to practice the passing game against our next opponent.

Only an LSU fan would put pass plays in the same category as cute plays. A pass play should be considered a standard play just like a run play is. We practiced our run game last week, we should practice the pass game more this week. Besides we don't want to put all our run play tendencies on tape for our future opponents to study.

well we can run basic pass plays also without "getting cute" and without showing SEC teams what is in our play book. By that way of thinking we may have already exposed to much of our play book by running all those end arounds against BYU. Now all the SEC teams know that run game "tendency" of ours.

Miles' offenses were also based on an opponent: 1946 Army.

Well, last year's Chatanooga Team held Alabama to 332 total yards.
Last week they gave up 366 to Jax State, about 50:50 run to pass yardage.

I don't Understand even letting Guice get to 25 carries. You have D Will and Helaire. Let them work

Guice shouldn't get 25 carries against Chattanooga save him for the SEC. But those sort of decisions are beyond my by grade.
