Can we talk about officiating?

I'm not really into the idea that "SEC refs SUCK". Nor do I generally enjoy spotlighting the relative strength or weakness of a crew.

But last night's officiating was awful. They made several awful calls/no calls. Not the least of which was the fact that Key was held on damn near every play.

It was comical. The refs were determined to negate any big LSU play they could.

It wasn't the best officiating but it had NOTHING to do with our atrocious play calling in the second half.

And here we go.... LSU won..............The refs did NOT do anything to decide the game.....

I stay away from the whole "the other team paid the refs" thing... but SEC refs have been pretty bad last few seasons as a whole. Not so much directed at us, just bad.

What was the deal with the refs coming up and stopping our play for a second or two right when we lined up, then letting play resume without explanation? Happened several times to us, don't recall it ever happening to state.

...and the ball placement for State.

Was it the second to last drive when they completed a pass for 7 yards on 1st and 10 for a first down?

Even the announcer was confused.

It seems like there were a couple of times that a mysterious yard...or three...was added on to the end of their plays.

We did win. And I'm glad. But we should have beat them by three TDs. You can't honestly and objectively tell me that the refs last night weren't fricking awful.

I didn't say they were good... They were bad on both sides..... But they didn't determine the outcome of the game by a bad call either way........

I opine that our momentum shifted after the bad call on the clear reception, the untimely booth review after it was clear we were going to make that 1st down. That ref, in my opinion, was biased even worse than ol' "Googley Eye". I hope Les files a protest with the SEC.

I thought I saw Arden Key get held multiple times.

Jamaal Adams gets a flag for taunting but when the State defender jaw'd our sideline after a big hit they didn't throw a flag.

Honestly, I felt they were meticulous (or tried to be) on us but not so much on them.

They were bad both ways. But situationally they were worse when LSU's offense made big plays.

Yea they were big play killers. And Key/Bower was held almost every play with no flags. Terrible

when they called us for hands to the face while ignoring the hold on key was typical sec bullshite. I felt the holds on our oline where a bit tick tack, but would have been fine with it if they had flagged the state line for every tick tack hold.

I would just like to see games called consistently.

Yeah. They threw some damn tacky flags in us.
Not to mention the Darrel Williams run on third down that they blew dead after he was 10 yards downfield to "review" the incompletions.
