No. I don't think USC or Alabama could hold them to under 300 yds on the ground.

The thing about Tech is they also have a great defense. Michael Johnson is a damn animal.

We'd lose something like 35-10 easy.

Not no, but hell no!!!
This DC would have a hard time stopping the Light House of the Blind let alone a triple option!!!!

I guess you forgot about that debacle against Iowa in '04, when we should have skulldragged those boys from corn country.

______________
They ran the bowl all over Georgia. We can't stop the wildcat, wildhog, wildrebel or whatever it's called. What makes us think we can stop their option game?
______________

Because it is not primarily a passing offense?

the 3Option would NEVER work in the SEC!!

Well they just put up 400 yds rushing on the 3rd best team in the SEC. That speaks for itself

Well it isn't, but the pitches and some of the tosses are effectively a passing game, plus Paul Johnson will toss it up when the D doesn't play honest and they usually lead to big results (i.e. wide open players). The big thing to stop the 3O is to be very athletic/ physical (which LSU can handle) but also be very disciplined (which LSU's D is most definitely not). In this case having an athletic D w/o discipline will hurt you b/c you'll over pursue everything. If that is the peach bowl match up, I'd think GT would end up with about 450 rushing yards and around 485-500 total yards.

If you look at the games that GT hasn't played well it was because of injuries to the QB (we played a game w/ our 3rd string qb, a pocket passer, it didn't work so well), plus the early season was plagued with turnovers, which now that the team's had a chance to gel and learn their pitch relationships, the number of turnovers has decreased greatly.

Now as I won't want the teams to play due to an obvious conflict of interests, I'd think GT would win this year in a rout ... 38-14

Being a big fan of both teams (folks both went to LSU, I grew up in Louisiana, and then graduated from GT) I think LSU could score some points but unless there were an unbelievable defensive turnaround, GT will run over, through, and around LSU for 400+ yards and win in a walk (much like GT-Miami game a couple weeks ago.) GT has a great coach, a great scheme, and really good young skill position talent to run it. Jonathan Dwyer is like Charles Scott with an extra gear. He is going to be very special. He is a true sophomore and will likely be ACC POY on Wednesday. Paul Johnson vs. Mallory and Peveto will be a mismatch of monumental proportions. As an LSU fan I hope this game doesn't happen. As a GT fan, I hope it does.

I believe LSU could beat GT, especially since we have a month to prepare for them. However, it's going to take a lot of practice and ensure we have the right play-calling going into this game. If LSU plans to start JJ, they need to remove the leash and let him throw the ball downfield a little more. The offensive line also needs to be ready to play this game and give JJ just as much time to throw the ball that they gave Lee the entire season. The defense? Man, now they have there work cutout for them as well. Just let these talented players play instead of thinking about it too much. We can beat GT. The LSU football team will be ready for this bowl game and prevail.

Paul Johnson must be laughing thinking about putting a game plan together to beat Mallveto. We can't be Ga Tech and wil lose by 14 points. The way they block the corners hard on every play will make Jai and Hawkins look a lot worse than they already are.

This game is on New Year's Eve, right? Hopefully, I'll be sooooo waisted that I simply won't care what the outcome of the game is; until I sober-up and realize that we went 7-6. Hey that team that has a mascot based off of "Aunt Flow" went 7-6 last season, good omen? I hope so.

I'm sure GT is also going to be a little nervous and apprehensive about this game as well. No matter what our record says, Georgia Tech knows that this is an SEC school with a lot of tradition that gets ready for any bowl game. I have to believe one way or the other that GT will respect LSU before it's all over with.

YES WE CAN! WE CAN WITH THE RIGHT ATTITUDE AND HEART WITH A POSSIBLITY OF A NEW DC IN PLACE. LSU NEEDS A NEW ATTITUDE IN PLACE AND A FOCUS SO WE CAN HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN THE FUTURE.
