We've been dragging those coonasses down I-10 and doing pretty well with them in the lineup in the last few years.

Just tonight we had three Lafayette freshmen starting at once - Breaux, Duplantis, and Lochridge. Next year we have Nicholas Webre, Mason Templet, and Miguel Reyes committed. All are from Lafayette high schools.

Of course, some recent Tiger greats also hail from the city, such as, Mahtook and Stevenson.

Overall, I believe it is safe to say that Lafayette has become the baseball talent capital of the state.

He wasn't LSU... But that talent pool goes at least as far back as Ron "Louisiana Lightning" Guidry.

You really shouldn't call people from Southwest Louisiana coonasses. It's actually very derogatory. They prefer to be called Cajuns.

Because LSU has never had any stars from Baton Rouge and/or New Orleans?

Webre is only a junior. But he's had the most power in his age group all the way up.Sweet swing from left hand side. louisiana is very talented in 2017/2018 classes.

I've watched nearly every TCH game when they play in the Lafayette area. Webre tries to pull every pitch regardless of where it's thrown. He has no position in the field and isn't very big. We're looking at Tyler Hanover again, without a glove.

Yes I was obviously very concerned about a Lafayette resident getting pissy on an online message board.

I understand you are from Lafayette, but the same could be said for Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

Lafayette an LSU Baseball talent pipeline

Because of the large number of Cajuns, there are far more white folks in the Lafayette/Acadiana area which results in a baseball sports culture. Similar can be said for football & basketball. The Lafayette/Acadiana area doesn't produce as many football & basketball players as the rest of the state because there are fewer black folks.
