Exactly my point. If Fournette was in there when the holes opened up we'd all be fapping to LF7 6 heismans right now as he rushed for 100+.

Hilliard didnt do anything special, he ran through gaping holes and ran north and south.

Hilliard hit the hole and looked really fast doing so. And so he got a TD...

Fournette had a chance to get a TD, but he tried to run over the Wisconsin dude instead of using his great speed to beat him to the corner.

He was met at the LOS or behind it prett ymuch all night.

Hilliard simply happened to be in the game when the actual huge holes opened up. Really it was a matter of luck then just putting on a move or two and getting north/south.

So buga's first game revealed exactly what I've been saying since jump street. HS numbers are just that. He will develop into a top tiered RB but for now KH is our guy.

IDK. Kenny wasn't doing much until we opened up those whole mac truck could get through.

WE need to block better for every running back.

Yeah, it kinda does. It kinda helps when your first contact isnt until 5-10-15 yards past the LOS instead of at LOS or before

If we continue to spread teams out like we did last night in the second half then you will continue to see some big holes. You can't blame our backs for not being able to break off big runs through a stacked box that is bringing run blitzes every play.

Yeah, the blocking was awful in the first half. Even Todd Gurley wouldn't have been able to do anything with way our line played in the first half.

Yes but he couldn't outrun anyone last year. Looked much faster last night, both to the hole & in the open field. Greatly improved IMO though it wasn't evident in 1st alf.

If LF7 ad those same carries in 2nd alf as KH, we would be excited about him today.

yep, he missed 2 huge cut back lanes to his left in the 2nd half that likely would have been large gains.

and when he got the ball twice on the goaline with the stupid fricking pitch up the middle BACK TO BACK, he could have hit the pylon and probably scored. But frick those terrible plays.

Im not blaming them at all. Just making a valid point. RBs look better when huge holes are opened for them. Hilliard was the only beneficiary of that last night.

The line can do their job. We just need to be in spread formations more often. Our big physical backs would be deadly all game long with the defense spread out. It's like we start almost every game in power sets and refuse to get away from it until we are playing from behind. We need to start games attacking the way we were in the fourth quarter.

I agree. I'm sure Magee and Fournette could've done just as well. I just feel we could do it consistently if the coaches would change the way they approach the start of games.

I agree with that basically. The blocking was atrocious for most of his carries. But on that toss around the 5-yard-line or so, it was him and one Wisconsin defender and he tried to run him over. The guy tackled him one-on-one. If he would've used his speed to try and hit the corner he might've beat him or just shrugged him off to get into the end zone. He's learning the differences at this level. He'll probably be able to run over guys sometimes like he tried to last night on that play, but Wisconsin defenders are a little tougher than most.

You guys are freaking pathetic. Fournette is a FRESHMEN. Hilliard had nice holes, but he also made people pay that met him in the middle. Stop acting like fournette is god sent. He needs time to catch up to the speed of the college level. He will not win any heismans this year. If he hits 600 that'll be a good year for him. Kenny is our horse this year. Plain and simple

He's learning he cant run over LBs at this level. Like I said during the game last night, he looks like a freshman.

Kenny was one of the top backs in the country coming out of school. LF is going to be great but my god Kenny was on fire last night. This is Hilliards moment to really shine and he took advantage last night. I laugh when people say he isn't a horse.
