I disagree.. KH ran well but had huge holes to run through. It seemed like every run for LF he was met in the backfield. We have 3 great backs and should go with who is having the best night. I think further down the season that will become more of LF's role.

Yes because it would be fun to watch a true freshman do that no matter how easy it is

He's not a returner, simple as that. I dont care what he brings in the return game, that's simply a bonus.

Lf7 had room to run on two plays.. one was a poorly thrown screen pass and the other was an option pitch that was too hot to handle

Not to take anything away from Hilliard but he was running through some MASSIVE holes and just happened to be lucky he was the guy out there when it was happening.

Bottom line is we need to go with whoever is having their day on that certain game day. Magee, Fournette and Hilliard will all have their 100+ yard games this season and we need to ride whichever one or pair is tearing it up and in rhythm.

Doesn't matter how big the holes were. He was punishing tacklers. I thought he was gonna murder someone last night

getting tired of people saying this

he's the same back that torched UGA last year.

and ARK his FR year when he actually got carries.

I think that was the first time in the Miles era adjustments were made at half. (On the offense side).

I bet you chart every play of every game, diagramming each player on each team on both sides of the ball.
Yeah right.

He averaged 23.40 yards per return.. to put that in perspective.. Christion Jones the KR for Alabama averaged 24.75, and he is considered to be one of the better return men in the SEC.

I don't think Miles would have him back there if he didn't have the ability to make a play. They've seen it in practice.

Yeah, it kinda does. It kinda helps when your first contact isnt until 5-10-15 yards past the LOS instead of at LOS or before it.

So does Magee and Fournette. We have big powerful backs.

He doesnt need to be returning kickoffs, we have to have better than run it up the gut and look for someone to run over.

Really wasn't the point. He ran right into defenders, the game is a bit fast for him yet. Don't know if he didn't see them or was just indecisive. I'm sure by seasons end he'll be much improved though.

You have to admit he looked a little more lean last night than in previous seasons. He's always had the skills but I thought he had a little more burst through the hole last night.

Hilliard will probably be the leading rusher this year. Fournette is talented but it was obvious last night he's got some things to learn. Game was too fast for him last, it was more obvious on kickoff returns

it was his first game and he got one carry at a time ...
before this season is over you will be singing a different tune ...
as for hilliard I was impressed , especially when he got in the open field ...

He did nothing special all 5 times he returned it. The 1 time he tried to go sideline it ended in terrible field position for us. The other 4 times he just ran it straight up the middle and looked for the first person to truck over. He went down on first contact every return IIRC. I didn't see anything special about him in the return game last night and definitely feel like we have some shakier options out there like Chark.

In time he'll figure out that he can't simply run over everyone. I'm still wasn't impressed with the way we used LF last night.

If you notice every time LF7 got the ball he was either met in the backfield or at the LOS. They were run blitzing him.

They sold out on the run every time he was in the game. It worked.

Yeah he should have housed at least 3 IMO.

This what I saw as well (5 when the others were getting two). Glad Hilliard had a great game though.

He looks like just another back to me. I knew Adrienne Peterson was a bad arse after 3 carries

And last year after first game our horse was T. Magee... Please... It's one game... That said, I don't think anyone will supplant him as the go to guy. Buga was not seeing the holes on KOReturns or running plays. Let someone else return...
