How much magic needs to happen? Having head-to-head issues with MSU and Auburn, it seems unlikely.

MSU 4-0
Ole Miss 4-1
Bama 4-1
Auburn 3-1
LSU 3-2

Potential scenario:
Auburn loses to UGA and Bama - Auburn out with 3 losses
MSU loses to Bama and Ole Miss
Bama loses to us
Ole Miss loses to Auburn

LSU 6-2 2-1 vs 4
Ole Miss 6-2 2-1 vs 4
MSU 6-2 1-2 vs 4
Bama 6-2 1-2 vs 4

That puts it to a 2-team tiebreaker

LSU - Ole Miss won head-to-head

LSU to ATL

Ole Miss hangs co-champ banner again

Same odds as winning the lottery - twice.
BUT, IT COULD HAPPEN

2007 is proof anything can happen. Let's just beat Bsma though. That would be sweet enough for me. Of course beating those other two clowns would be icing on the cake

Can it? Sure I guess

Will we? I can say with 96% assurance, no.

Indeed...

It's about the time of the season to play hypotheticals though. At least we're still in range of the hypotheticals.

I hate to say it but "I'm satisfied". Anything else this season is 'icing on the cake' for me.

Beating Bama would complete me.

I do not see it ....

#1 Mississippi State 4-0
#3 Ole Miss 4-1
#4 Alabama 4-1
#5 Auburn 3-1
#24 LSU 3-2
Texas A&M 2-3
Arkansas 0-4

even if Ms St and Aub end up w 2 loses, we lost head-to-head to them and would also have 2 losses.
...BUT if we win out, we could influence "committee members"

If we go 10-2 this season after the losses from last seasons 9-3 team, ill take it even without a division crown

I gave one plausible scenario. There are others.

possibly, but not likely....however.....if LSU goes 10-2....this will have been one hell of a season, especially after all the negatigers predicted 4-8.......btw, where are they today?

Doesn't this scenario result in State going to the ship if we have identical records and they have the h2h win?

The tiebreaker for three or more is h2h against all teams in the tie.

It's unlikely, but not insanely far-fetched IF we win out. Everything assumes LSU wins out to get to 6-2.

Then, what does LSU need to create that 4 team tie? It needs Bama to win every other game. We likely need Georgia to beat Auburn. We need Ole Miss to win the Egg Bowl and lose to Auburn. With those results, we get the following # of losses:

LSU - 2 (Auburn, MSU)
Bama - 2 (OM, LSU)
Ole Miss - 2 (LSU, Auburn)
State - 2 (Bama, OM)
Auburn - 3 (State, Georgia, Bama)

None of those results, on their own, is that unlikely, but the combination of results is likely prohibitive. But if we beat Bama, we become huge Bama fans down the stretch, as we need them to beat both State and Auburn.
It's unlikely, but not ridiculous.

I'm not going to stress myself over winning the west. It's such a minute possibility that it's not even worth worrying about. I'm jut happy that they pulled it out last night. I didn't think they could win that one. Now I just want to see them win out and get a good bowl and continue to improve throughout the rest of the season.
