I should have been more careful in my word choice cause I didn't mean "you" specifically but the negative guys who spent much of the 1st 3 mons. ranting bout a team that remained highly ranked pretty much all yr. My apology.
If this team had gone out in the regionals, there will be just as many if not way more I told you so threads. I don't have a problem with it myself. It's just how things play out on sports forums. People get way too emotional
calling out of a very successful baseball team and program, but what's new about that.

This team deserved some of the criticism it got in the middle of the year
he turned it on late and didn't let up. so, either 10-16 were just hard luck years or he just doesn't give it his all every year. given the result this year, the former is acceptable, the latter is not. either way, he got the job done this year - competitive at the cws. that's what the elite teams do.
there was a LOT of indignation when i suggested that o'sullivan was at least as good as mainieri. oh, but he's been so many times and never won it. hmmm.
