It cut away to a commercial and couldn’t see the batter. Good old fashioned smack talk or did something happen?

Skenes has that dog in him for sure. Glad he’s on our side.

It seemed like he was talking to the dugout, but a buddy of mine said the umpire hollered at Skenes and Coach jumped at the ump having Skenes’ back

What were you people watching? A number of Kentucky players stared Paul down AFTER he struck them out and a couple mouthed off . I can’t imagine why or what they would say cause Paul just struck them out. Paul was simply paying it back and I love it.

You could see this at the game but I doubt tv showed it.

That’s precisely why I was asking because TV showed a little but not the whole interaction

Can confirm. It started around the 3rd or 4th inning and especially if the last out was a K. I could see them turn and stare at Skenes, mouthing something as they walked away. Skenes initially just ignored them but his last inning was the worst. Skenes had just had enough of it.

That’s exactly what it was the commentators were even talking about it!

I don't think they really want any smoke with Skenes. That goes for most any player or team in the country. Big, former military guy and catcher, all hopped up on Mountain Dew, out there blowing 100 with good movement and junk, strutting his stuff bc he can. Units like Travinski, Frey, White, go down the list. This ain't a little PM team that you can bully.

No opposing team is going to love him. Oh well. Deal with it.

Correct. It appeared to me that maybe they were intentionally holding his velocity down so as to get the most innings they could. I’m no expert on that. That’s just the way it looked to me. Perhaps UK was jawing at him thinking he was having a bad night. Who knows?? I just know that as the game moved along, UK’s stares and mouthing off after a K got worse and worse.

Kentucky's players appear to take cues from their coach on how to be an a-hole

It looked like the Kentucky players were mouthing off about Skenes using his slider/curve to get them out instead of his fast ball...... 13 strike outs? maybe they need to bunt more. lol

My buddy is a professional lip reader and told me that Skenes said “for you my friend” to their dugout. It was a friendly gesture.

Skenes stares down batters literally every game he takes the mound, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he likes to get a little chirpy from the dugout in games he doesn’t start. I don’t have a problem with it. But it seems like many of our fans struggle to believe that LSU could ever be the ones that initiate the shite talking.

How much does that pay these days?

Ironically, I really am. Paul just said “I command 3 pitches for strikes and our team of baseball players is superior to your team of baseball players. You will be unsuccessful in your attempts on this day.”

That’s literally all he said. The umpire thought it was too much and might lead to a fight so he intervened
