Is there a clause stating if he accepts another job after being fired his buyout therefore is null and void?

Typically the buyout is reduced but not eliminated.

If he gets a coaching job that pays 400k, then that amount is removed from his payments.

But he is getting his 15 million one way or another.

Doesn't matter. Les is worn down by this circus. You could tell after the Ole Miss game in his press conference. The guy needs a break.

I agree. I think he'll be content to spend time with his family. Why go back into this rat race if you don't need to?

Seriously? That seems ridiculous, right? So he could just get the money from LSU without taking a new job and all the stress/time/commitment that comes along with it?
I'm no democrat, but that seems like an easy decision to me.

Put Les in the booth calling some games. Or at least in the studio.
That could be good - or just terrible and confusing.

People that talk about Miles's intelligence and say he is dumb will be surprised how well he talks when he is not dancing around every question.

The contract has an express covenant that requires him to seek comparable employment to mitigate the liquidated damages (i.e., the buyout).

Holy frick, did you just start watching football or something? Jesus the rant is full of idiots. LSU and Les Miles signed a contract. He's going to get his money. The buyout clause is going to pay him so much each year over the course of what would have been the remainder of his contract. If he doesn't find another job, he'll get his full amount. If he does, he will get his full amount minus what the new job pays him. He can't sit around doing nothing however, or can't go work at McDonald's and get his buyout check. He has to be actively pursuing similar work.
