Wow, what a response!!
I went to bed early and woke up to see a ton of thoughtful ideas.
I knew I could count on Tiger fans. Thank you so much.

We are driving, so we will have a car. We could drive from the Belle to the game.
I definetly will not walk based on all your advice.

We will drive the area on Friday, so we will be a little familiar with it Saturday morning.

Since we are driving in from PA,and won't have much to tailgate with, I like the breakfast idea from 2much8enough.
Would love to look some of you posters up to thank you in person at your tailgate if you are there.

Evansky, We are in Harrisburg, so not far from you at all.

Walt O Reilly Funny story on my passion for LSU.
In 1971 LSU played Notre Dame on a saturday night TV game.
I was 8 years old, and watched the game.
I honestly could not have told you what the letters in LSU stood for, but I knew I did not like Notre Dame.
I watched the game and rooted for LSU, but mainly against ND. LSU won and from that day on there was an LSU fan right in the middle of Penn State country.

I even graduated from one of PSU's branch campuses. I will root for the Nittanies against anyone but my Tigers.
( The slop bowl a few years back gave my buddies a lot of material to razz me about, but with the unfortunate recent turn of events in State College, there have been bigger things to discuss)

"Live after 5" is a great way to experience La. music if you & your wife enjoy music. It's an open air concert downtown not far from where you are staying. And afterwards just follow the crowd down Third St. for drinks & food all over. Game day get there early & for a 2:30 kickoff, 8 am is too early. Suggest you contact LSU's sports information dept for best ways to catch a bus to the game but taking your car to the Pasttime, a pizza sports bar not that far from campus & jumping on its bus is an easy way.Just not sure what time that service starts. Since you will be wearing LSU gear, you won't get the arms wide open treatment from tailgaters that fans from visiting teams get but don't be shy & once folks learn where you are from, you'll get all the food & drink you can handle. Mid Oct in La. can be hot & humid, so plan on the heat. With where your seats are, the sun will be to your back by half time but just walking round pre game will be hot. No umbrellas allowed, so not a bad idea to pick up the cheap ponchos you can find anywhere if the threat of rain comes into play.

I am also from PA (Scranton/Wilkes-Barre)now living in Tampa. Made first trip to Baton Rouge last year. Something you will never forget! Making trip again next year for Georgia game. We used to get the LSU games on radio in PA in the early 70's. Father had season tickets for PSU and I would wear the other teams jersey. Moving to the South got me better football viewing on TV and more of my beloved TIGERS!

You absolutely need to go to TJ Ribs. If for no other reason than to see Billy Cannon's Heisman Tropy. I actually stopped there on my way back to Houston from NOLA this past weekend for 5 minutes just to go in and see the trophy.

If you tell any big tailgate group that you are from PA and this is your first time in Baton Rouge, they will drown you you in free food and beer and treat you like family. No need to try and tailgate on your own, Go to a big spot (RV lots are a good idea) and introduce yourself and you will be taken care of. Walk-ons, TJ ribs both great places to eat. Watch the band come down the hill. Welcome to Baton Rouge hope y'all have an AWESOME time!

You might consider taking the shuttle from the Belle or Pastime anyway to avfoid having to have parking hassle unless you leave very early.
