Still good for 2016 though.

He’ll get nabbed by someone with a different system at least for a year or two. He just needs that pension. Mingo is a very smart guy, so I’m sure he’ll be comfortable financially for the rest of his life and still have his health.

I might be wrong, but I think he can still play. I'd like to see him healthy and on a team that hasn't brought in a new approach every single year.

I agree. I'd like to see him somewhere with some stability.

He had 5 sacks his rookie year. If he can get back to that level of production, he'll get another contract in 2017.

Much like Morris Claiborne. Mingo needs a new start with a team that fits his abilities.

He's apparently on the Michael Phelps diet. Looks like he is putting in the work. Hopefully it works out for him. Here's a quick read for the interested: LINK

Shame on the Browns for trying to force him into a OLB..he's a DE all the way.

Yeah he hasn't been very good when he has to back off in coverage.

I think he can still play too. It’s just tough to get another contract at such a premium position with that little production. He definitely has the DE talent though. Glad to see he’s trying to bulk up.

I don't think it was the move to OLB. I just don't think he was coached well. He came out of LSU with insane athleticism but without good technique. If a good coach gets his hands on him, the potential is off the charts.

He's getting his rookie DC back, who had him as a pure pass rusher.

And he's added a lot of good weight. I think he can have a decent year and make some more money going forward if he stays healthy.

He's an awesome guy FWIW. Met him a few times while he was at LSU through a charity event and he couldn’t have been nicer, smarter, or more down to earth.

The sooner he can get out of Cleveland the better. He'd look great in black and gold

That speed rush he has is just not going to work consistently in the NFL. There are just too many athletes.
He needs to develop more pass rushing techniques.

Hopefully Rex Ryan calls him up to Buffalo.

Meh, he'll get like $500 a month starting at 55 years old. Can't live off that anyway.

More like three times that, but the point remains the same.

I checked and you're right, he would get like $1400/month. The real key to his retirement is the 401k, for which the NFL contributes a ridiculous $2 for every $1 the player putz in. THAT is the real retirement plan.
