Malone played over 200 minutes last year but didn't crack double digits in any of the last 8 games except Arkansas when Mickey was injured.

Do you guys think it's possible to start Simmons and Epps down there and maybe get a handful of minutes from Elbert and Darcy or will those two guys be too small?

We need some good rebounding from Blakeney, TQ, and Hornsby for sure to make up for the lack of size until Victor gets back.

Crack double digits? Darcy scoring 4 points in a game was a minor miracle.

I think from Australia trip, LSU will be ok for non conf play with what they have. They might run a little more but Simmons, Epps, Malone should be able to handle the load. They will definitely need Victor for SEC play or foul trouble will doom this team. I think the 3 point shooting will be much better this year which will take some pressure off this team offensively. Rebounding will be key particularly offensive to get second chances. With focus on Simmons that should free other guys up to make plays and Simmons touches in the post will be good with his excellent ball skisls

Epps
Simmons
Hornsby
Blakeney
Quarterman

No need to play a true center at the 5 in college against 90% of the teams we play.

Epps wont be able to handle any Center in college basketball that is even decent.

Malone is the smallest 7 footer. He can't rebound against slightly smaller more athletic guys in the paint.

And who do you think we're playing OOC? Duke, UNC, UCLA, Ohio State and Kansas?

This is my solution to the problem. I think the upside of Epps is so high he has to participate early and often.

Brother, in college ball it's pretty interchangeable. And for us, he'll be a 5

Victor can start playing in December... He won't be sitting out for long.

the NYC games are the only ones that really bother me to not have him. We should be fine though.

I think LSU will be ok until Victor can play and I agree it will not matter much early. It would be great if Darcy and or Elbert could help the team.

Frankly, even when Victor can play, a good big man will dominate the Tigers. Thankfully only a very few will the Tigers play against if that many.

Brothers just hope the home opener against McNeese isn't rained out.

He has little to no experience. And whenever he did play last year, he was playing wing on offense and not guarding any post threats on defense. He is a 220lb thin bodied tweener forward. He certainly will have to play post with Ben Simmons this year, dont get me wrong..

All I'm saying is that whenever you have an actual Center presence that can post up and score inside, we will struggle if Epps is guarding him. Doesn't matter if it's Duke or Marquette that we play early in the year. Our biggest weakness will be interior defense and I don't see much of an argument about that.
