You'll probably be doing that a lot. I took my 7 year old to a Bucs game. Huge mistake. Lots of profanity and a fight right in front of our seats. Left midway through 2nd qtr. Tampa Bay is a great city, horrible fans.

Teach her the last few syllables of the alma mater that she can scream with everyone else.

Besides seeing mike and watching the band and team come down victory hill.... Is there anything else in particular I can take her to on campus? TIA

Bring her to Slinkys and get yourself a Fatass Can of Coors Light and introduce her to Pam.

My daughter, now 19 and a sophomore at LSU, went to her first game at age 3. There are a lot of things to do and here is a list of our favorites (when she was young and we still do a lot of these today):
1. Take her to the new bookstore to buy something (Game Day T-Shirt, etc.)
2. Take her to the LSU creamery for home-made ice cream. Great on-campus fresh ice cream.
3. Take her around the recently renovated Student Union especially downstairs to see everyone watching the games for the day.
4. Drive or walk around sorority row and the lakes.
5. Walk across the parade ground and see the tailgates and bring a football to throw it around.
6. Take her for a walk to the Memorial Tower and then through the Quad.
7. Go to the amphitheater and watch the band gather and warm up. Mike the Tiger (the mascot, not the real tiger) should be walking around and you can get her picture with him.
8. Take her to see the real live Mike the Tiger in his cage.
9. Walk across and stand by the locker room when the team walks down Victory Hill and into the locker room. Some players will stop and take pictures if you ask nicely.
10. Watch the band march down Victory Hill (make sure you have the event schedule for the day in your pocket, printed from Dandy Don or LSUSports.net)
11. Cool off in the Maravich Center as the band walks over there after marching down the hill and gives a preview of their halftime performance. Free drinks. You have to be a member of TAF (only $50) or LSU Alumni Association (you should be a member of one of those anyway) to get in. You can join that day at a table set up for that and your entire family gets in.
12. Get into the stadium early and watch the team warm up. You should be able to get pretty close to the field regardless of your seats until game time.
13. Be in your seats when the Golden Band from Tigerland marches in.
14. Leave at halftime when she is fast asleep.

This list should be the order to do everything.

If you want to do everything correctly, you need to get to Baum's Bakery (on Florida or Perkins) and buy LSU football petit fours if you plan on stopping by any tailgate. It makes a nice thank you gift and you can eat most of the cakes yourself.

Always welcome to stop by the Texas Tiger's Tailgate across from the KE house on Dalrymple on most game days (Auburn, Florida, A&M and Arkansas).

Have a great day and enjoy watching our damm fine football team play.

Let us know how it goes!

I'm bringing my 7 and 10 year old daughters to the Arkansas game, their first. It's two and a half months away and they won't stop talking about it.

They don't seem to like bourbon very much at this point, so we'll probably just stick to scotch.

This. You can't call her "princess" and expect her to like football. Either/or, but not both.

I usually hang out in the union until it gets close to the time when band walks down. Especially for these September games.

I brought my 9 y/o granddaughter down from Birmingham for her 1st college game 2 years ago when she was 7, before her Bama grandfather had a chance to poison her mind. It was the W. Kentucky game and she loved every minute. We went to the boookstore, got her face painted, stopped by a tailgate party, saw Mike, and the last stop before going into the stadium, watch the band come down the hill.

We were late getting there and tried to find a spot on the PMAC ramp, but that was 4 deep too. The guy standing in front of me saw me trying to hold her up and I told him it was her 1st game. He cleared a path to the front for us so she could see it all.

We sat next to the band and the Golden Girls which was perfect. She is a real fan, in the 4th quarter with the Tigers well ahead, it was getting a little nippy, I put my arm around her and she was shivvering. I told her "sweetie, we can go now, you don't have to sit here if you're cold".

She said "can't we just stay and see the Tigers score one more time?" We stayed.

The next morning at breakfast I asked her favorite part, the treats, the band, the Golden Girls, Mike? She gave me a look and said "winning, of course". I knew a real Tiger fan was sitting next to me.

On football Saturdays she asks mom to record the LSU game for her if she has to miss it for a b'day party or a ballet recital.
