Hiring a complete unproven commodity for a brand like Michigan is a mistake. See Marcus Freeman and ND. He may recruit well, but there's a lot that goes into running a tier 1 program.

All he said was that Kelly would take the job if offered, which he was never going to be.

Shout out to everyone who was stupid enough to believe that rumor had any merit in reality.

Promoting to HC from within rarely works out. I don't think Sharrone Moore will last either.

Well not if you heard it straight from Woodward. It's not like this was made up like you seem to believe. It was a legit concern within the athletic department. You can thank Breaux's daughter when Kelly eventually leaves.

His statement was informed by Moscona’s character making him no different than the other shallow self-promoters in the seraglio known as the media.

Marcus has done as well at ND as Kelly at LSU. It’s too early to know how he will turn out.

Figured Michigan would go with Moore. They won’t have the mass exodus of talent like bama

They were having a mass exodus anyway because the vast majority their contributors were out of eligibility or heading to the NFL.

He has about the same record but he inherited a better situation with a much easier path to success

Given that, I’d say BK is actually doing better

Anyone who thought Kelly would build a dream team staff and then bolt is an idiot. Sigh of relief my arse. What a joke

All those rummers about BK to Michigan were total BS plated by the media.
They can finally shut the Frick up now.

That’s what people close to both programs have implied.

Wait people actually thought this was a possibility? Holy shite we have some dumbass fans. Kelly was never leaving for Michigan.

Y’all do realize Michigan is about to get hammered with ncaa violations. There are apparently 5 penciling investigations.

I don't think he would have

I think he wants to see what he can do with elite SEC speed and talent, which he will get at LSU. If he was struggling, I could see him leave; but he isn't. The rosters for 2022 and 2023 weren't "typical LSU" yet, and he's already having some success. If the new assistants on defense can recruit and restore that side of the ball, and he can continue having elite offenses too, this program is positioned to become a monster again. The clear comparison has always been UGA... and over the past couple decades, LSU has generally been slightly better.

He's not going to leave that to follow Harbaugh at Michigan, when they just won a title and likely won't be nearly as good. They might steamroll the Big 10 again, but the SEC teams will be another animal.

He said that based on other saying that Michigan was important to BK because of his Michigan (state not school) ties. But people change over time. He’s got us rolling.
