I'm just saying Stingley's name doesn't deserve to be on the "if" list.

The only other person on the list that is draft eligible is Gaye right....hell he might go.

ETA I guess Brennan is draft eligible.....but he doesn't have enough information on him to get drafted I don't think.

This is true, but only so because the culture at LSU is so shitty and self serving that guys will opt out, not play through pain, or take a 5th round grade and leave.

This doesn’t happen at places like Bama.

he hasn't played any games this year. He can play up to 4 and still red shirt.

Not sure, but based on what I have seen this year, Nuss would be where I would spend my money developing. He has much more upside than Johnson. I would try to keep Brennan and Nuss and expect Johnson to hit the transfer portal.

its not "per year" he played last year and those games count against him. he has one game left to play and after that, if he plays again the redshirt is gone

OL is hit garbage. Weak at safety and LB too. Talent may be very overrated
And odds are a Tier 2 coach.
Top 5 job paying highest in country may end up with a coach not even in Top 10

He already used a red shirt his sophomore year. He has one more year because of covid. For a medical redshirt he cant play in any games for the second half of the season. Plus he may not be eligible due to how many years he has already been in the program.

quote:

To qualify for a Division I Medical Hardship Waiver:
The athlete can’t have participated in more than 30% of the number of games or dates of competition in their sport.
The athlete also must not appear in a contest after the midpoint of the season.
The athlete must have contemporaneous documentation from a medical professional that their injury or illness prevents them from being able to continue participating in their season.

Couldn't he potentially have 2 more years of eligibility by not playing this season?

Stop trying to make Myles Brennan happen

Myles competing for the starting job is a healthy thing for our QB room.

With our running game finally going and OL playing alot better/adjustments making an impact, it suits Brennan much better. Max has averaged a 56-58% completion rate against Florida, Kentucky, Auburn, and UCLA this year and alot of that is on him.

If Nuss isnt 100% ready next year, I wouldnt be surprised if Brennan gets the nod.

This has to be a troll because it is completely wrong.

He'd be a fool to come back this wasted season.

Unless he wanted to show the league what he’s got so he can head there next year.

No. He's already redshirted. Next year will be his sixth year, if he returns.

Correct.

Normally, he would have been a redshirt senior this season as his fifth year on campus.

2020 didn’t count because of covid.

He could apply for an extra season. I don’t know if the NCAA giving everyone the free Covid season would make them any more/less likely to grant it. I would think the fact he only played 3 games would help as he’s missed almost two complete seasons due to injury.

Not correct. There is no scenario where he gets a 7th year of eligibility.

There have been around 11 or 12 seventh year seniors. It is possible. He wouldn't be able to play a game this year if he goes that route. Medical redshirts don't allow games past mid-season.

A seventh year of eligibility is exceptionally rare, but Barr isn’t football’s first. Texas Tech offensive lineman Tony Morales got a seventh year granted, after missing four in a row with injuries. San Jose State running back Deontae Cooper did, too, after having three years erased by injuries. In the last decade, it’s also happened at Utah and Robert Morris. Some big-name players, like former Houston QB Case Keenum, have hit six.

Lots of shite has happened in the past that won't happen in this scenario. You cite two players who have missed 3 and 4 seasons of eligibility with injuries.

Also, Brennan's redshirt was not due to injury, which is an important factor.

Matt Cassell.

Thats what Brennen is thinking. Career Backup to Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart, still made bank in the NFL.
