Secondly don't you think your reasoning is what actually contributed to this problem in the first place? Oh it is okay they are college kids simply breaking curfew turns into a few kids breaking curfew. They do it enough times and now more kids are doing it and more keep on coming. This leads to where we are at today. You give them an inch of rope and they take a mile. I am not sure how it is in the Naval world, but you give an E-4 the okay to break the rules he has lost total respect for you as his superior.

Oh good grief!!

You drama queens are really over the top today.

Again, you miss the whole point. I'm not condoning their actions. If someone runs afoul of regs and gets caught, they must and will be punished. Repeat offenders are generally drummed the frick out of the service. I take issue with the fricking (oh my God, they're terrible) outrage over some college kids breaking a 2230 curfew. It's dumb, but they're young men--not robots. I've done it, you've done it, lots of men better than either of us have done it. So can the outrage.

And, once again, I'd like to point out that CFB is not the fricking military. I only brought the military up to say that even an organization that relies wholly upon discipline understands that young men are going to frick things up from time to time. If you're halfway sentient, you know the trouble makers from the kids who made a mistake.

But I backed off after getting advice from a law school STUDENT didn't I?

Ah I thought your law school comment was meant as sarcasm. i apologize then.

Many paralegals and legal secretaries think they know the law better than law grads just bc they've been doing it for a while too. Who would you rather representing you though?

You are sitting there defending them to the death as if they have done absolutely no wrong and justifying it with OH WELL they are only college kids afterall.

Is breaking curfew not running afoul of the regs?

They are Division 1 college athletes that are subject to a higher standard than a common college student. Much like Officers are subjected to a much higher standard than enlisted soldiers.

I've never broken curfew.

As a former coach, this is the purpose for having a curfew!! To prevent an incident like this.

Breaking curfew is far from a minimal level of disrespect. Do you have children? Let them sneak out of the house at 1:30 am and see how 'minimal' it feels.

No offense, but what level did you coach at? The child comparison is apples and oranges. I played college ball and I disagree with your opinion.

Yeah. And the poor sons of bitches are probably puking on the practice field in 102 heat right now--as they should be. While you and I sit at our computers discussing their deserved fate.

On the other hand I have seen some secretaries turn a recent law school grad inside and out. (In house) Not a pretty sight. I go for experience.

I still don't see the connection with this thread.

i'm pretty sure that the fighters, and why they were fighting, are the only players that most of us are concerned about.

Not perfect, but people that have respect for authority.
